It's so weird seeing Deborah and Charlie in the same room without thinking of Karen and Matt. It's also refreshing to see him be so nervous and shy as he's getting into the game. Great job with the guests!

It's really evident that Charlie Cox is a new player and being such a good sport about it. he's just sitting there smiling at everyone's enthusiasm but internally just "... *wat.* wha- what's happening? a good thing? okay..." and it's such a relatable thing seeing him starting to awkwardly but them getting into it too, because you were that player once, or you were at a table with a new player like "wha... What's initiative? what do I do to cast a spell?" and just getting those beats of understanding when their character does something badass/cool.

This is so great, you can actually see Charlie Cox loosen up as the game goes on. D&D can be intimidating even to the best of us, even to people that literally perform for a living, but once you get it and start having fun you realize anyone can do it! Xander does a great job of helping the DM by taking new players under his wing. This is the best kind of player as it helps the DM focus on all the other spinning plates in motion and makes the new player feel comfortable. He helps the guest PC a lot with everything, which is probably why he's seated at that end. On occasion, he'll suggest an interpretation that favors one of the PCs, but won't argue the point and slow the game down like a VanHoose. My highest character i ever played started as Alaric Clarke a human priest of Michicale, who found the tome of magic and learned a spell that aged me from 40 to 80 in the years i used the magic. Then my 10th level priest died a valiant death saving my party but i got ate by harpy's and my group had me reincarnated as Gwinlo Gleem Gnome Illusionsit level 1 who always knew he was a priest (now level 5) in his other life. after 12 real years of playing i was a 21st level Illusionist Priest.
