Absolutely beyond me why, when CDB put out Full Moon in 1980, Legend of Wooley Swamp was chosen as the single to push rather than El Toreador. This song is a true Tour de Force. I saw this lineup perform El Toreador live about 2010. Had VIP passes and front row center stage seats, maybe 10 feet from the stage. When they finished the song I felt like I had just run 10 miles. Charlie Daniels proved to be one of the nicest musicians I ever met, very friendly and cordial. One of my favorite live show experiences...

I had an old Charlie Daniels Band CD that had this song on it, and I swear it was my favorite song on the entire CD. Sadly the CD was broken on accident. I can never find that CD or this song anywhere. This made me so happy! Thank you for the upload!

I've just discovered this band and was listening to this streaming, great dual guitar, like a sort of Spanish/country Thin Lizzy. The lovely guitar tone just screamed "les paul" to me so I had to check, and I wasn't wrong! :)

The treatment Pat McDonald gave this song on drums was a bit more Spanish in rhythm than on the album version so it kind of lacked the rock groove and it lacks the LA Reflection Section horns but still great to see this song back in the band's live shows for a while. This and Caballo Diablo were two of my all time CDB faves.
