@@Hittius That is a pretty defeatist attitude you seem to have there. Agreed, Trump is less than perfectly ideal but he is a WAY better choice than Biden or Kamala. So should we not have voted at all- is that your position? BTW - voting Democrat would have been the definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results - Obama, Biden, Kamala) - in case you didn't know how that works. You are probably the same type of of individual who proclaims " what are you going to do - deport 12 million illegal aliens?" When, of course, the answer is - we are going to start eating that elephant a little at a time. Starting with the most challenging and problematic portions first and keep working until we get across the finish line.

You raised the hypothetical about a government division of cell phones would be disastrous. I like to use that as a case for privatization. The telephone was invented in 1876. The national telephone system was controlled by a single company for most of that time: AT&T. Reagan ordered it broken up in 1982. Before 1982, the advances in telephone tech was minimal: automated connection, pulse dialing to touch tone dialing, larger networking. Not much else. You could call within about a 10 mile radius from your home without paying liong distance fees, and the further distant the receiving telephone, the higher the fees. Since 1982, things have blown up. A dozen companies all offering services and trying to beat the prices and features of all the others. Calling California to New York costs the same as calling the guy standing next to you.. We have video calling, teleconferencing, entire phone directories on your phones. Telephone technology stagnated until Reagan broke up the monopoly. It has blown up far more than anyone could have predicted since.

Oh that boy doesn't live in the real world, the moment he has to work and pay bills, bring him back.. In Europe we also thought that everything had to come on Elec with sunlight and wind power, it turns out that most people don't get enough sunlight and wind power to charge everything so they still have to pay expensive bills. Plus we are now on the schedule that everything is so expensive in terms of energy because our electricity network is overloaded by all that electricity...POV May I also give the young man a tip, debating is a good thing, you have to learn it by doing a lot, but as soon as you enter into a debate and become rude or think you are better than someone else or start getting incited and start insulting people, then you have lost the debate because your attitude was wrong and then all your good ideas are lost in the way you conduct a debate....I have had regular debates with my children, just about the dumbest things I said look it up and let's talk about it, that's how they learned how to have a conversation with words and facts, that should teach every child that intellectually the power of facts and words is greater than tantrums or swearing. AND you don't have to agree with each other in the end, but you should always be able to shake hands out of respect that someone took their time to have a debate with you, just a little tip I would give to parents too, look up something they like and start a conversation.

If the system you enforce directly creates poverty which causes millions of deaths, you can’t say that poverty is to blame and not the enforcer. If someone poisons the food of another that kills them, you wouldn’t say it was the food that’s to blame, would you? Although these people claim guns kill people so maybe it’s giving them too much credit.

Don’t confuse capitalism with governmental corruption and cooperatism. A pure free marked doesn’t allow stealing. Always governments and corruption make monopolies and injustice, not the free market itself. Of course it is the same argument like ‘real socialism does not kill’, but the evidence is clear, while the good examples do show the difference.

The key issue is the human condition. There are attempts to legislate the harmful conditions out of man. Man is envious, covetius, jealous, greedy, with powerful urges for sex and power. The problem is not the absence of a perfect government model. The problem is these harmful desires and faults of man will defeat every government system attempted. When capitalism gets corrupted people go to jail and courts sort out the problems temporarily. When socialism and communism fail scores of people usually die, even more people starve and suffer and recovery from inevitable problems takes years. Capitalism is not perfect because the men in control are not perfect. The core problems are embedded into men creating and operating any system. Until the condition of man is changed, the problems associated with man will infect any system under the control of man. Limiting the damage done by a particular system makes that system a better choice. It is intriguing how newcomers, like freshly enlightened college students, often think they are the first to discover something and the hold the keys to unlock the perfect solution, somehow it was overlooked by millions and for centuries before now.
