@BW022Ай бұрын
It should be: "If you give up your liberties for the sake of PERCEIVED safety, you deserve neither" It isn't that removing the second amendment and banning guns would actually make people safer. * Charlie is correct in that you'll never get rid of 200 million firearms in the US * Criminals would be the last group to give them up or agree to any buy back, seizure, etc. * The more lawful firearms you get rid of, the less safe you are as criminals using firearms become more and more powerful. * You are obviously less safe from the government -- from general abuse of power from low-level authorities to outright corruption, takeovers, coupes, election fraud, etc., etc. * Even if you could get rid of enough firearms that criminals couldn't get them, other forms of weapons would take over. Suicides would move to other means, knives, clubs, and other weapons would be used, etc. * You now have a precedent that some 'common good' wins out over individual rights. Same logic could be used to ban skydiving, cars, letting your children out of the house, fatty foods, etc. And the people banning these would have the exclusive use of force so you'd be unable to oppose it.

My thoughts exactly. Its the Great Equalizer and the only thing that can even the playing field if you are attacked by much stronger males. As women, we stand close to zero chances in many situations to physically fight off men if they get the jump on us. I have no problems admitting that I can't beat a man, idk why some women get so offended at the thought. Most guys are around 40lbs heavier than most women and a good chunk of that is muscle, even if they are out of shape. As women, we fundamentally have higher fat percentages than men.
