Democracy does not work that well. I left with my family near the end of Covid and moved from Western Canada to South Carolina. In Canadian federal elections, it is known who the next Prime Minister is before anyone in Western Canada even votes! It’s extremely frustrating and western Canadians are talking more and more about succeeding from the rest of the country. Ontario and Quebec voted Trudeau in three times, what more needs to be said? Trudeau and his gross over-reaction to Covid was the nail in the coffin for us and we will never move back. A Constitutional Republic is a much healthier system of government. A person can pick the state that aligns with their values and everyone has more of a say regarding federal law and elections. Democracy & Socialism that often seems to go along with it, does not work!!

WI worked for a supermarket in produce 6 1/2 years before I graduated college. I worked 28 hours during school time. Then 40 + 4 overtime + 5 double-time sunday hours. I stocked shelved, trimmed and prepared food, performed inventory, did ordering, put away deliveries, interviewed new employees, and was the acting night manager in charge of all other part-timers in the managers absence and acted in his authority. I used to go to class with dirty hands, price tags on my shirt and pants, and vegetable stains on my clothes. But I guess that's why I had such a hard time getting my 1st professional job, as all the bosses dismissed me a a crybaby brat.

You did a good job explaining why states work the way they do and why a largely populated state like Cali shouldn't dictate what the people in Kanas can do. I think she really needs to come to the UK, to see how small even our 4 countries are all together and realize the value you have in America with states' rights. It prevents what's happened to Europe with certain leaders of the past. Having a USA without your state level would lead to a dictatorship at some point, I'm 110% sure of that. I'd have personally asked her if she'd be okay with the 'will of the people' (51%) if she and her (49%) friends didn't agree with it. She would find herself being dedicated too instead.
