When Charlie fakes his death, the newspaper says his age is 33. He changes the names of people (suni to d'souza etc) just like Jesus changes names of Simon to Peter. He's a carpenter - building the boat. The fact that Charlie knew Tessa before she knew him reminds me of the bible verse that says you did not choose me but i chose you. We see that mathai is known as pathrose(Peter) by charlie and when Tessa is looking for him he denies knowing charlie 3 times just like peter denied knowing jesus. The father of Charlie is conveniently named David. And Jesus is known as the son of David. Coincidence? I think not.

Yes there are definitely parallels with Jesus. And yes he did hang out with the prostitute as well ( Mary whom he took on the boat, she is in parallel with ' Mary of Magdalena ' ). And fun fact, this movie I think is based on a short story by the same name and the actual climax is he dies during that magic act in the end, and she carries on her journey to Puskar. In the original trailer of the movie there is even a shot where she is lying down on the back of that tractor, all alone.

​@@ahas1972 The story is by Unni R and I'm not really sure if it's a published work. I know the story was like that because someone who is a close associate with the writer is a friend of mine. Not really sure but take a look at the book, 'One hell of a lover'

The actress kalpana who is an iconic malayalam actress who played the hiv patient who died in sea actually died shortly after this movie sufferring from cancer after getting cheated on and divorced from her long term husband....she died a horrible and pathetic life and death similar to the scene in this movie which was really heartbreaking to watch also be cause it was her last movie..😢😢😢

Certainly lot of parallels with Jesus...also from Tessa's perspective, it is representing humanity, who goes all around searching for god but dont look to see the obvious and while we see HIS magic and good deeds all around us, we are only interested in finding HIM rather than participate in them and in the end when you manage to find HIM among the millions, your first instinct is to hide your true self.
