So without spoiling, here are the rules of death in this show; Sinners are immortal once they appear in hell (same case for people who get into heaven). They can get brutally maimed and slashed to pieces, but they will always remanifest... UNLESS, they are killed by holy angelic weapons, in which case their soul is erased permanently. So yeah, that's why Charlie opened the hotel, to redeem sinners to go to heaven to that they won't be slaughtered by the extermination. Edit: also may i make a suggestion? I love how much you love Charlie, I'm more excited than ever to see you actually go through the show! Also it's been a long time since I've been involved in any religion but I do remember that the older depictions of Angels were TERRIFYING, and Hazbin seems to draw from that (I mean the creation story in this involves Lilith which is a very old version of biblical texts) so it makes sense that the Angels would look just as creepy as demons. Also yeah as people have mentioned, you can die in hell and you'll just regenerate eventually. It's just painful. But when the Angels do it via the extermination, it's permanent, your soul is basically destroyed outright. It's a culling, plain and simple!

HOLY CRAP just noticed a small detail about the golden angel projections. When adam first calls them out and we see them around charlie we can see 4 angels. All other times we basically only see three. BUT when we take a closer look at the 4 we can see an odd one out and for those of us who have watched the full show already know. The Angles we see in this episode are the Exorcists, a group that's sent down to kill demons once a year. While it's never been said why, they wear LED masks and horns whenever they go to Hell, but usually take them off while in Heaven. The guy singing the song here is Adam, as in first man Adam, who's in charge of the Exorcists, while the one just behind him is his second in command Lute. 7:33 It's funny you say this because so far Adam is the only male Exorcist we've met and he refers to all the others as his babes. How death works in Hazbin Hotel is a bit complicated. You've got three main groups in Hell, the Hell Royals, Earthborne Sinners, and the Hellborne. Royals and Sinners can be killed and maimed in just about any way, only to painfully regenerate back to being fine. However, if you kill them with an weapon blessed by Angles they die forever, with their soul melding into the dark essence of Hell. Native Hellborne on the other hand can die by just about anything, including old age.

Charlie is technically a Nephilim. The child of an angel and human. That's why she seems so angelic at times but has a demon side. She also has tiny little hoofies!! (Which I love) but as a hellborn she can never leave hell, she was never human with a soul to be "judged" so she's just trying to make home a little bit better. And to answer your question about exterminated souls, they don't reform like a regular death in hell. You will see eyes everywhere in hazbin and helluva boss (like in walls, the ground, plants) they just pool in energy and become part of the energy of hell as a whole. A whole "part of the crew, part of the ship" thing.

When a demon/sinner is killed by an angelic weapon, that demon stops existing, permanently. They are erased from existence, destroyed on the deepest level that anything can be destroyed. Their soul is just gone, poof - and their energy supposedly gets absorbed by the surroundings. So basically if you die in hell by an angelic weapon you get erased from existence, just gone, for good.

"You should get put in a new limbo and get told where you messed up so you can be better" funnily enough (And not a lot of Christians know this) it says that exactly happens in the bible, you don't just go straight to heaven or hell, if you have a relationship you go to heaven, if you didn't know or got some things wrong you go to another resurrection where you're taught to be better and make the choice yourself, and if you knew God as well as you know a brother but then turn away you go to Hell, so its actually really hard to go to hell since it's hard enough to truly have a relationship. This show does an amazing job at criticizing what most Christians believe and how it tends to have a lot of them act a lot like Adam despite none of it being supported biblically.
