Yes you do. The whole North Jersey sound just like or similar to New York. Most of the differences only noticeable to locals. Why would that be so crazy, yall all share the same radio TV, etc because it's all the same media market.

I'm from Jersey City and we do have a different accent from New York it's similar but different even the different boroughs of New York have different accents from each other but people that are not from these areas to them it all sounds the same so I get it. Most of my family is from Newark and Philly and people from Newark definitely don't sound like New Yorkers alot of people think I'm from Newark but that's because my accent got all scrambled up from living back and forth from Philly to Jersey all my life. I'm been to Camden a few times and they had a part of town that had abandoned houses for blocks and it was nothing but crackheads in that area it's like they had there own community lol and some were young as hell and don't get me started on that greyhound station 🤦‍♂️🤣 and the crackheads use to stay pushing up on me out there 😂🤣
@CharlieBo313
@CharlieBo313 Жыл бұрын
@Quan201 Most of what you said is true but accents usually change gradually over a wide geographic area. People may sound different in New jersey or in different burroughs of NYC, but that has more to do with social/economic class, and education level. In some cases the buroughs are separated by a street so that would mean somebody born on one side of the street would sound different than people across the street from them.

The rapper is actually a real dude, he ain’t flashin for the camera, everybody fw him, he’s humble, when you really from the streets you not braggin and he’s smart, if you street smart you know he’s definitely holding back a lot from the camera. Unlike most people you interview he’s genuine/real. If you don’t think they from the streets you don’t know the streets. Blessings to all of them

I'm from Camden north 32nd represent!!! Ur right btw north was real bad but then it move downtown and south. But idk why jersey doesn't really have too many artists who got their own sound or thing goin on. I'm hoping some of the promoters will actually highlight Camden NJ cuz it was the murder capital for years and so many people live hard in Camden and grow up with nothing. I just remembered people yelling at me "dope powder reddies park up park up" 🤣 because I'm white and I was like naw I'm good. But it looks like things got WAY better from 2012 when I left. There's a lot of talent there that needs to be shown. Keep it up!!!

Camden used to have the highest crime rate in America in the early 90's. Half the projects and rowhomes have been demolished since then. The city is an empty lot now. Most junkies have fled over the bridge to Kensington in North Philly. Camden never gentrified but it's not as bad due to lack of abandoned buildings now.

I'm from Medford nj I used to go down there , lived down there for a bit, all due to my addiction. The street you guys are by, Mt. Vernon , was where my good friend lived. I'm clean now, it will be 6 years in March. I notice they've knocked a lot of the abandoned houses and buildings since I've been there. I actually met some really decent people, some bad too. But the nice decent people stand out more. Even some of the guys who were hustling were really decent and cool to me.

Jersey gave up on Camden, infrastructural, Educational, it’s constantly in the top 10 most dangerous city’s in America. As long as it’s contained to Camden and doesn’t spread to the suburbs the state is ok with it. I’m not going to call nobody’s life sad or nothing, you make the best of where you are but you have to give people a chance to do better or make their city better, I hope they make it. Two points they made that are very true 1- Nobody wants to be the only one fist fighting, so once shooting becomes the norm nobody’s going to ask for a fair one cuz they know they’ll just get shot. That’s the situation in every hood Camden isn’t different 2- They feel they have been forgotten. It’s true they have been forgotten, by the state, by the government, by society. They are people in America that have no idea theirs places this rough.
@shane6450
@shane6450 Жыл бұрын
What else can the state do? It’s a money pit. The crime is out of control, no one wants to be a police officer in that area so crime stays. Why not get the community together and fix it up? It’s much better than standing on the corner doing nothing but shouting out your Instagram. If each of those guys got a decent job, saved up for a year and pooled their money together they could buy one of those cheap houses and fix it up. You can basically learn how to do a lot of things right on KZbin. They can all live there together or flip it. That’s the only way to save Camden. It comes from within.

I wonder if these young men come from a 2 parent home? Are the light skin guys Puerto Rican because Puerto Ricans are the majority ethnic group in Camden, New Jersey. It is sad that young Puerto Ricans and Black young men focus on becoming Rappers instead of focusing on getting a good education so that can move out of the slum and the bad environment they're living in.

Honestly if the neighborhood got posh, you know these guys would still be complaining because the standards of living would be higher and they wont be able to fit in that higher end of living. Its really a double edged sword. If the neighborhood is shit they would complain, if the neighborhood be thriving, they would struggle to survive. It's a lose, lose until you change your mentality.
