People who have never been to Mexico think that all Mexico is like that. This video was recorded in a poor and dangerous neighborhood. There are many zones around Mexico like this, however not all Mexico look like this. There are very well developed zones where you would almost think it's a totally different country. I've lived and seen cities in the United States where it's not much different than here. I've been to cities in the US where you can see trash, old building, poverty and high crime rate. Not trying to defend Mexico but like any country there are nice and developed neighborhoods and very dangerous places as well. A lot of people talk like if America was all perfect when we all know it's not

I’m half way through this and I see nothing dangerous. I see poverty. We’re not watching Sicario here but I suspect most are thinking in that mind set. And that’s what movies do to the unwary. Unfortunately most northern foreigners expect they’ll see naked mutilated bodies hanging from bridges almost anywhere outside the tourist beachside lock ups. The G 7-20 countries will never allow the countries with huge cheap/slave labour to ever be any better off than they are now. A Mexican carpenter will never make $40 CDN per hour. A school teacher in India will never make $80,000 a year. If they do, cheapest jeans will cost you $400. How do places on the border become symbols of depredation and violence? Conspicuous wealth right next to conspicuous poverty tends to change desperation into dangerous acts like sneaking across boarders, drug smuggling. As if we wouldn’t try the same thing if we were born there.
