Yall got Charleston and North Charleston all twisted. Many of the 'hoods' are old neighborhoods with extended family members like great grandparents and so forth. That is why you see a lot of kids, old poor structures, but the county likes to keep things clean at least on the surface. But black people down here are pretty diverse in the sense that they aren't just walking stereotypes like they are in the nasty cold northeast. We actually take pride in ourselves and Charleston is where it all started here for most of us. There isn't anywhere else in the US like it here. There are actual 'hoods' yes. IA lot of brothers have lost their lives here over nothing, and we as a community aren't proud of it. But things have gotten better overall.
