Great simple affective beetle! Was hoping you could elaborate about how you clean your Peacock. Never considered it. On camera they look so much more vibrant then mine. Thanks for your generosity with your time and knowledge as always…Mel

Do you have a book on tying terrestals

6:03 "no wraps in front- doesn't do anything" EXACTLY!!! I've only been tying for about 45 years, and thought I must be missing something when I watch all the New Cool Kids fly tying videos when they insist on making wraps in front of tied in materials.

What's your favorite super glue, Charlie? I have a love/hate relationship with that stuff1

The tips and techniques that you provide for tying any fly are fantastic. Thank you tons Charlie. My ties are still crude but at least the proportions and durability are much better; aka they don't look like complete crap, lol.

Reassuring to see a pro make a few goofs like amateur fly tyers (that's me!) do and then demo how to fix it!
@HalfInsaneOutdoorGuy2 жыл бұрын
why do so many fly tyers insist on saying "tie them down with wraps in front of and behind the material" Makes sense to me that it does not do anything...

With things like feathers specifically, it really is just a way to make sure once you cut the excess away it doesn’t come undone, not really necessary, but good practice.

Really seems Charlie has a different way to secure material than tightline productions…he continues to emphasize 😲

Good one, Charlie. You can round the foam shell with a lighter too...if you're careful! That's what I typically do to the shell and heads.

Is that the Frank at St. Pete's who won a distance casting contest one year?

The term you are looking for is dotage as in I am an old man in my dotage. You are not old Charlie, you are as they say in your Prime. I like to fish beetles then again I like the terrestrial season which is late July to the first frost, warm days, low water, and fish looking up! So it would be kind of crass to go to Fly Fish Food then?

Charlie put the name, address, and web site of your shop in the permanent description so that we can see your shop and buy STUFF.
