Charlotta No Damage Solo on the Golem Boss

Charlotta has a rising attack with guard point on her triangle button. Guard point means a character is blocking during a portion of an attack. This move can be canceled into during combos, but there's some points to note here:
1. The guard point functions like normal blocking and you can be guard broken if it's used too frequently or carelessly. This is fine.
2. You also end the combo string with this attack and will be screwed out of DPS because the swanging attack loop is where you wanna be with this character. This is not fine, and let me explain why.
With how effective her swanging loop is, it feels as if you are being encouraged to whiff swings and reposition with dodges if a monster moves away or is in a jump attack. Just to stay in the swanging loop.
Whiffing the loop looks ugly and untidy in my opinion. But it's better than dropping the loop and starting back at the initial hops combo, if your 2 skills that put you into the loop afterwards are on cooldown.
Which is what your options will be, if you try to power through an incoming attack with the guard point move.
I do not like this.
Feels like Charlotta got given an interesting tool, but system mechanics discourage her from using it if you want to play her effectively. Send help.
