Carrie didn't demand the ring. She expressed her financial situation to her friends and they volunteered money which she refused right away. BUT Charlotte didn't offer. It bothered Carrie because if Charlotte needed money Carrie would have offered her. Understandably, Charlotte was raised to not lend friends money. Carrie tried sourcing different ways to get money for her apt. Charlotte offered her ring as a down payment and Carrie said no. Charlotte insisted and Carrie was able to keep her apt. Carrie then started working for Vogue for extra money to pay Charlotte back and was eventually offered a book deal. It was very very successful and she paid Charlotte back in full. She's been successfully writing books ever since.

@aquitaineq I agree, though to be fair, she didn't get plastic surgery, just a bunch of fillers that made her mid face and lips heavy and unnatural. She also had lots of botox She sports the typical over pulled and overfilled look I see on soccer moms in my neighborhood. Funny thing is that they look anything but young.

She was always the weak link in SATC. She was great for a few sombre, dramatic scenes like her miscarriage in S6, but generally she overacts to the point of being precocious. Kind of like Emma Watson

The kids “Fly be free” and Harry “told you I would” all three so dismissive like Charlotte didn’t do anything to help them in their daily lives. They they all get mad once she’s gone. Loved it when she came home wasted and told them off and the next morning when Harry complains about doing everything and she lets him have it again.

I hate all the kids in the reboot from what I’ve seen. Even Brady. Though maybe there are scenes of redeeming traits I haven’t gotten to. It’s not the actors’ faults (or maybe to some degree it is), I just hate how they’re written. I get teenagers being depicted a certain selfish bratty way but if I’m gonna care about them at all I’m gonna need at least a little charm and warmth amidst all the cliche teen garbage brattiness. Even THE BRADY BUNCH KIDS from 50 freakin years ago seem more realistic because they could be selfish and bratty but were nuanced and could be friendly and loving too. These kids remind me teens depicted in a slasher film as terrible because you’re supposed to somewhat want Michael Myers or Jason or Freddie to get them.

That because recent shows for adults pictures kids as struggle and challenge. That type of media portrays kids as antagonistic force for happy life of their parent. But that not fair to kids. Their existence depends on adult's decisions and choices.

She used to be so spectacularly beautiful that it didn’t matter that she couldn’t act. She and Trey were a ridiculously attractive couple. She is still pretty but her bad acting is a little more noticeable …and the plastic surgery doesn’t help.
