Awesome, honest review. It amazes me how alike the searches are. I too love Charlotte Tilbury, but I’m sorry to say, since the Pillow Talk quad launched to fanfare, oooos, and aaahhhs, almost every eyeshadow release, IMO, has some element of Pillow Talk in it. The highlighter in this palette is the same as the Bronze and Glow, the eyeshadow in this palette? Why? Give us some variation!! I totally agree that these brands must think we’re stupid or blind. LOL. I really appreciate the hard work you put into each and every review and how deep you dive into the swatches. Thank you again. Sending love and hugs. 😘💜🤗💙😉

I agree 100% that she tends to always have the same color scheme. I do like the palette for travel bc it has a whole face look. If she releases one with a different color scheme I may purchase a second one but otherwise I pass on them. I think Charlotte knows her customers and realizes that most of us in our 30's and 40's rarely wear bold makeup looks. You are right about it being fool proof and easy to use for everyone. That's where she really shines compared to other high end brands.

While I completely agree on the repetitive shades for folks who collect/buy a ton of CT, for someone like me who doesn’t own any, it’s nice to have an option to get a nice palette with all of her tried and true shades. Does that make any sense? I don’t however understand why she puts the blushes in the center pan! She needs to flip the highlighter and blushes.

Absolutely 🙌🙌 when I first started buying CT I LOVED palettes like this. And im in the same boat when it comes to Pat McGrath. I don't collect her stuff and just started buying, therefore when she has repeat shades it doesn't bother me because I don't have it in my collection. Lol. I totally understand completely. Thank you for your review . While I don’t own any CT looks in a palette, I DO own quite a few of her quads and blushes. I think I will pass on this one. And I also am suffering from makeup fatigue. There have been sooooo many new releases, and many have seemed so repetitive, either within the brand itself, or even between brands. Sad to say I’ve lost the excitement for new makeup. This coming year I’m going to try to focus on using what I already own and not buy something new unless it is truly different 🙂

Your video was soooo refreshing!! My thoughts are exactly the same and I totally feel like these brands are taking advantage of us. I Also have the recent holiday look in a palette and love it but won't be buying any more CT eye or face palettes for awhile or until I see something that's different that I will love. So many of us have a weakness for new products and in 2019 I feel like companies really took advantage of us. I hope 2020 will be different with fewer and more meaningful releases. You're the best. I hear what you are saying but for me, not a collector but more of a selector, This palette seems worth checking out I chose stoned rose lipstick over pillow talk a while back because the color suited my tones better. I totally agree! To be honest, I was shocked when she launched the stoned rose look in a palette so soon after the holiday one! What on earth is going on with these companies? They act like there's no tomorrow! I actually started becoming interested in the holiday palette after I saw the stoned rose palette! I knew that the colors in the stoned rose version would pull warm on me because I own the stoned rose lipstick, and that is very warm on me! But I have to say these colors are beautiful on you!

I think i what i like the most is the idea of an all in one face palette, but the small blush sizes would annoy the crap out of me!! I just decided its better to buy a full size blush. I only have the Darling eyes or whatever the small palette is from Nordies Sale and her Pillow Talk quad. If you had to choose ONE -all in one - which would it be?????? AND dont ever apologize about the amount of blush or bronzer you put on!!!!!!! Its totally what we ALL DO . 😘😘😘

Thank you for reviewing. I have not bought anything CT since last spring. Pillow talk is to CT what orgasm is to Nars. The fact that PML is also repeating shades is upsetting as well. I understand that sometimes, it is smart to repeat a shade, for example, when customers have been raving about one of the shades in an existing palette, and repeating that shade may increase demand for the palette.

Great review✨totally agreed. I thought I was the only one I have Dolce Vita and Pillow Talk and felt like I completed her eyeshadow lines along with lipsticks most were peachy tone . However, I loved her Flawless Filter no. 4 I can use as foundation on no make up day and also used to mix with foundation and her concealer I loved. I loved her eyeliner as well in the brown shade. Hopefully, she come with more colors. I saw TOMFORD has such a great color of eyeshadows, don’t know if she created those.

My problems with CT -not inclusive for people beyond medium tones -Permutations and combinations of the same colours in different “ limited edition” packages. -Too many releases again of same colour story. -high price but without innovation I think they assume that if she releases 10, we will at least pick a few. But in my case that is resulting in an overall decline in the interest for the brand itself. Edit:: talking of innovation : please check out snap shadows by fenty. Mini palettes with different colour stories that can snap together. Now that has peaked my interest 😁😁

Good Morning Tara🌞! I am so on board with you! When I first saw the release of this limited ed. I was excited! I had gotten the last one for her holiday release and I thought what a great idea having a whole look in one palette, for travel or a quick pick of something to create a nice makeup look for the day. However, you are a second reviewer who is showing the similarities of these palettes along with other items of Tilburys. If I had nothing of hers already, it might be a great place to start and try her products. But, as an avid makeup consumer, I’m not a pushover. I still will use discretion when it comes to my purchases. This will be a hard pass. I don’t need duplicates. Tilbury clearly is a create makeup artist, that she could release a very new and clever limited ed rose palette, with things we’ve yet to already have in our collections. You are most correct that we, as consumers, will have to show the industry we are not always going to be pushovers and just purchase because it is the latest release! Other than that, it is beautiful on your face! Her products are great quality! Keep these videos coming! 😘💗💋👍🏼

I agree maybe put the Golden highlight and deeper Peachy color's. Or even a blue face pallet but not right now! Next year! Give people a chance to save up for it. Hi Tara, fab video! i was considering getting the stoned rose because i love the lipstick and thought that it would be compact palette to have for travel. but then i also have the Darling , Starry eyes and Pillow talk Instant so maybe i'll just get the lipstick. Another thought regarding repeating shades - some people may be minimalist and not hoarding products. If the colors work on all skin tones why change in a palette that is an all in one? Just a 💭

The reason why Stone rose is so similar to the Xmas palette is because it first came out as a Asia/China exclusive palette on a popular Chinese online platform. It just entered the Chinese market and this palette is meant to be a beginner/starter bargain to get ppl started with the brand(stone rose is the best selling lipstick in China I think). It just got so popular so CT roll it out globally (which they really shouldn’t )

But I am seriously getting ticked off with CT and now wait for you and/or Mel to review them before purchasing. Tara Lynn yeah I hear you. I saw Michelle Wang’s video first before I ordered as I won’t be getting all of her items. It’s too expensive in Canada. So I thought if I got one of the instant face palettes it should be one I liked most of the shades from. And it’s not cool to have the same bronzer and highlighter. The pans are larger. It’s doubtful you’ll hit pan and she keeps coming out with new limited edition ones. So far swatching I like the shimmers in the Charlotte darling and the gorgeous glowing beauty. Pillow talk in comparison is just so blah. And my pop shade keeps getting hard pan and looks like I will hit pan soon and I’ve maybe used this 6 times trying to get use out of it. And it’s still just very light. I end up using the hourglass scattered light in ray instead for the pop Cuz the pop in pillow talk is just barely there. I laughed again today I had to pick it up 4 times on my finger to get it to swatch. Wtf

I would say Glowing jen Is much lighter than this one. It's a little peachy pink (one of my fav shades💋). This is more orange base. I love it on my skin tone, but I don't think it will work for all skin tones like Glowing Jen❤❤

The original stoned rose was a beautiful muted rose pink. A true ‘stoned rose’. I never use up lippies. This one I did. I reordered & got a peachy color. I’m not saying it’s not lovely but I wish she’d warned her customers. I can’t wear it. It’s too orange on me.

Hi great review, however I like the palettes being that repetitive. I don't have much make up and when I buy something I like to use it up. I love that she has her best products in the compact format. You get the most for your money without buying every single product she has. It's great to travel with and to use it every single day. Those in my opinion are my most favourite palettes ever. I have two of those I always come with the easiest and best make up look ever. I think she knows exactly what her customers want. Just think about it if you buy just this one product, you would be really excited to get those exact shades in it.

Her colors are just way too much alike for me to spend or justify spending the hundreds of dollars I was spending previously. I agree that since Pillow talk, they are all just too similar and I am not so much inclined to buy. I've sent back the holiday palette and the Charlotte Darling palettes for this very reason, when 2 years ago, even last year I kept everything. I also cannot justify spending $120 Canadian on a lipstick and face palette and get so little product for my money. I was shocked at just how small the Charlotte darling palette was. It fit in the PALM of my hand.

At this point this palette seems more marketing than actually truly being inspired by Stoned Rose. It really seems like an afterthought to sell more. Pillowtalk collection and Walk of Shame eyeshadow palette truly seem to be inspired by those lipstick shades. Love her brand, but I am kinda tired of her capitalizing on the success of the marketing strategy of “inspired by my best selling lipstick shade in...” Its overkill . Eh

Tara Lynn Yep, exactly. It’s time to get creative or develop new formulas or products that add value to her range and the consumer experience. I also feel she needs to expand eyeshadow and maybe blush wise in neutral colors that aren’t just golds, peaches, and warm pinks. Those are pretty shades, but now it is really apparent that they are being overused in all her palettes.

Hey, I just bought stoned rose palette after watching your review. It seems every artist has his/er own taste. If you scroll through bobbi brown, all of her products gives Natural finish while Huda beauty has heavy filter instagramy finish. So, Charlotte tilbury is known for feminine Hollywood looks, so she would put those shades which vibe her aura. The face palettes released are never permanent collect in her beauty line. They're always limited. Then she goes on to make another face palette, thinking consumers might have used up the palette and is now ready for another one. You see, CT has never come up with fair, light, medium, tan, dark types of palette segregation, the concept is to make it work from fairest to darkest skintones. This is why she's always consistent with her shades. I see your frustration is because you have a leisure of collecting items without any budgets, the face palettes are for us, who can use it in 5mins, can't afford financially and time limits, child use the palette irrespective of skintone. This is called "Conceptual Art".

I am a bit frustrated for other reasons too. Her original filmstar was very soft & easy to pick up. I went through a few but didn’t mind. Now I’m getting hard pan filmstar bronze & glow that I have to scrape. Plus the highlighter is quite powdery now. I also received a dried out mascara. Sigh.

For me this is an easy pass. I wasn’t that impressed with the instant look in a palette Xmas one. I’m eyeing up the jumbo pillow talk one that’s being released spring 2020. Those pinks are fab and I’m totally get for life on blusher, bronzer and highlight

This is my answer to your question- collectors who feel a compulsive need to acquire every release are simply collateral damage. The identical products serve the purpose of repackaging the same thing in hopes the "new" factor, or even just the packaging, lures in new customers. Again. These brands aren't opposed to so many buying all their products, but the truth is they are looking to reach new consumers. This is the fault of toxic capitalism: the populace's obsession with "the next thing."

How can people keep spending their hard earned money to keep buying the same products? I have yet for someone to notice these differences. Shes laughing all the way to the bank with this stuff. Cant justify it. There's no variety in this line. Everythings pink. Every possible shade of pink. Pinkbury cosmetics should be the name. Used to love it but its boring now.
