At first this was all funny, but the longer it went on, the more horrified I became. I was seriously relieved when it turned out that "Beth" was only joking about abandoning her children on the side of the road. At least the kids are with people who actually want them and will love them now.

Yes. It definitely took a bad turn at some point and it’s almost relieving that OP was in Beth’s life to just ask the simple question if she liked her kids or being a mom. Those kids deserved love and clearly she wasn’t going to give it to her. People who have been hurt continue to hurt others. It’s a sad cycle but one day Beth will grow up and have a real relationship with her children. PPD is a huge setback for a lot of moms and being honest with yourself has to be the number one action to take to get better. Say what you want about Beth and her choices with everything else. This one and only choice she made was the most selfless and crucial act of all. I think it was the beginning of her becoming another person. Like the parents in Matilda giving her up to Ms. Honey.

Considering what we had heard prior to that... I think most of us believed she was capable of doing it. I'm glad it's not true, but truth be I wouldn't put it past her. Thankfully those children are with parents who really want them and will love them, unlike "Beth".
@AerynKDesigns2 жыл бұрын
honestly I'm glad she gave up the kids. I've known people like this, and people that used their kids as weapons to get money from the fathers, and take them to court constantly, and they always *always* hated the children. The kids were nothing to them and neglected like crazy. Raising a mentally well child is hard enough, but it's impossible when you give 0 shits about them. I'm not a fan of children, but no one deserves to be raised by someone that clearly hates them or sees them as nothing but a burden. I hope those kids recover and get to enjoy the new families they're in.
@Coira22 жыл бұрын
I'm glad, too. My nephew's mother is similar to this, except she was only interested in the attention she got from being pregnant and having a baby. Once the kid started to form a personality or she didn't get as much attention, she'd be pregnant again and the kid would be ignored. Luckily all of her kids were taken away, and are thriving with the family members of their respective fathers.

Back when I was in foster care there was a woman who kept getting pregnant for the financial aid. I agree if OP didn’t ask that question her kids would not be in a good situation to grow up strong and healthy and wondering why their mother hates them, I’m glad that Adam took his daughter because he knew he could care for her better than what her mother could, it’s sad to know that there are women out there like this and it sucks that women like my self can’t have kids but hear things like this makes my blood boil to the point of wanting to hurt the women who wants nothing to do with her kids

Its far from messed up, If you cant give your kid a happy life you should give them away to someone in a position to do that. I grew up in a violent home and it completely destroyed my life, I`m 35 now and I`m still struggling with my past. This is no joke for children, Mental abuse is the same as being beaten physically not exactly but it can also destroy life, You wont succeed in life with a weak mind
@toprap882 жыл бұрын
@@Hummingbirdbudgets-t5i Well this is the parents fault, Its your job to look after your kid. They clearly didn`t, A mother would never be hostile against their children unless they have been treated the same as kid, its not that she dont like her kids, She just have too much hate to her family that she cant take it.This is exactly why I never gotten kids yet cause I grew up in a violent home, I know I wont be bad to my kids but you cant have responsibility over someone else lives if you have underlaying issues, Deep down she knows that, Thats why she gave them up. In this age its the parents who are fucked up not the kids, People should keep that in mind and dont blame them. There`s a reason we have so many single mothers now, Its because they haven`t been raised right. I know the feeling she has, I hated the world for 20yrs because of my father and became extremely violent towards people, Even looking at me was a bad idea So I understand her. Most people have no idea how much this will hurt a kid mentally

Life isn't a book with a definite ending until you're dead. I'm glad she gave up her children, but it would be better to put them for adoption through the system instead (except baby A), why? Because she will have contact with the woman she gave up her baby to, which means she could come back years later to try to become part of the children's life or demand money from them "because she is their real mother". I can just see it.
@LanceCorporalKitty2 жыл бұрын
I just hope babies A, B and C are able to get to know each other and have a good relationship.
@AuntLoopy1232 жыл бұрын
Me, too! Giving them to those people, SPECIFICALLY to those people, was the BEST thing she could ever do, as a mother. She probably wanted to give them away, for years, but didn't because she would be viewed as selfish and bad. It was BRAVE to give them up. And it was for their own good. As much as she hated being a mother, she KNEW people would judge her harshly for giving them up, so she kept them as a shield against that judgement. When you're a bad mother, you can't win. Keep them, and you're a bad mother. Give them up, and ... you're a bad mother. Except that, if you ARE a bad mother, giving them up IS THE BEST THING YOU COULD EVER DO FOR YOUR CHILDREN! Giving your children up for adoption IS the loving option. I truly hope that the new parents teach their children that their mother gave them up OUT OF LOVE for them. She didn't like being a mother, true. But she CHOSE to PROTECT them from her future self, putting them in SAFE places before she lost control and hurt them, as she inevitably would, if she kept them any longer. She'd grow to resent and hat them. She might even grow to ENJOY the abuse. I hope they teach their children that THEY ARE LOVED, and to never feel bad about being given up by their birth mother.

She gave them to people who wanted them and can give them a better life more ever than she or the system could. She’s delusional, and sadly bitter and closed minded because of it, but she went through trauma and never got the right treatment nor coping she needed, even if she had some help to keep her afloat. She didn’t have “real” friends that stayed by her side through and through it seems like, her family wasn’t supportive, and the only form of love she got was toxic and thought marriage and kids and a family would fix all that… I hope one day she can truly leave Chad, focus on herself, and get the help she needs …

Her personal trauma is part of the reason why she doesn't want to go to therapy, from what I gathered, from the type of family she has, going to therapy is admitting you're the problem. Giving up her children was the only healthy thing about this whole story as she's been taking out her frustration, trauma and hatred on them. Taking into account that she's displaying really aggressive behaviour she needs help, which she won't accept because she's obviously been brought up in such an unhealthy manner than asking for help is accepting defeat, this will only escalate, I truly feel sorry for her crazy ass.

While I agree that Beth is a walking red flag, we have to consider the type of environment she was brought up in from being kicked out of the house at such a vulnerable age, being denied contraception or birth control, her own family sabotaging her, etc. Her refusing to go to therapy pretty much tells us everything 'cause of how stigmatized it is, & it's absolutely messed up. If anything, as awful as she went about it, the only thing she did right was give up her children, and it worked out, 'cause they're in loving & healthier environments.

@@louisejohnson6057 postpartum can be classified as: 1. Postpartum Blues: totally normal said person just had a baby it's OK to feel overwhelmed. Baby is NOT in any danger, can last upto 2 weeks. 2. Postpartum Depression: postpartum blues lasting over 2 weeks is considered depression, can last for months, symptoms and signs of depression present, NO thoughts of harming the baby are present. 3. Postpartum Psychosis: this is a medical emergency thoughts of self harm/ harming the baby are present. It is a psychotic break can include auditory/visual hallucinations, delusions and many other symptoms. Requires immediate medical treatment. What causes it? No one knows. But people with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder are at a higher risk of experiencing postpartum psychosis. Since she gave the kids up knowing she didn't want them and it was better for them, psychosis doesn't fit, postpartum psychosis is extremely dangerous, if she would have left the kids on that road or tried to harm them then that diagnosis would be a better fit! Kudos to "Adam" who fought for his child and to the other guardians of this story because they were saved before anything worse can happen to them. "Beth" needed to be in therapy because she is so destructive. That needy personality is too much for anyone even "Chad" at this point since she was the reason that divided the family.

We need to STOP STIGMATIZING people in need of mental health help, and ENCOURAGE people to get the help, not discourage or shame them for it. I also hope that CHAD gets some mental health help, because something attracts him to at least one woman like that, and keeps him with her ("It's the right thing to do" is PART of it, but only part), and obviously, he has some ISSUES that need to be addressed. Wow as a mom of 5 I can't imagine joking about leaving my kids anywhere. I believe that there are people in this world that should NOT be allowed to have children. This woman being one. It is also surprising that Chad is still in the picture. Beth needs serious mental health care. The fact that no one else besides the poster has realized this just shows how not cared for Beth is. I really hope Beth never has another child and gets the help she needs.

It's people like Beth that make my blood boil. As a woman who unexpectedly lost her fertility a little over a year ago to endometrial cancer & was devastated to know I lost my chance at having kids of my own, it sends me over the edge when I see/hear people who quite frankly NEVER should have been able to have kids (yet seem to be able to pop them out left and right) just cast them aside like they are nothing or blame them for ruining their lives when they are the innocent ones in the equation.
@Tasha9315 Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry you had to go through that. And I get where you're coming from. I've been told that I likely have fertility issues and I also get mad when I hear of these kinds of stories because I can't help but feel it's unfair that many women who don't want children (or aren't ready) easily get pregnant while women who yearn for children have fertility issues. I'm not sure if I'm being rational or fair in having these thoughts but I can't help but feel it.

Omg and I thought that my family was crazy lol thank you Charlotte for the update. I now feel less crazy. But I am glad that "Beth" was woman enough to make the choice to let her children go to someone who would love them and care for them in a way that she just couldn't. That is the biggest expression of love that a Mother can do. I'm also glad that her Dr finally put her on birth control, since I would of called her Mertile as in Fertile Mertile, lol. I hope that she someday realizes that she has had a lot of trauma in her life and that there is no shame in getting help with that and seeks therapy or counseling. The fact that this is a true story and someone's actual life makes me sad for them. Unfortunately, I know that there are many more parents that don't enjoy being a parent and take it out on their children. I have to admired the bravery and strength of this young woman had giving her children a chance of happiness that she didn't have herself.

What can you say except WOW! As a mother of 2 boys its so hard for me to believe anyone could feel this way about their own childern! I would starve in order for mine to eat, I'd die to protect them! One of the worst things as a parent is for your child to be sick or hurt and there's nothing you can do to stop it it literally will break your heart into not to mention the mini heart attacks you have when you see your child fall or go too close to the road! Mine are older teens now (18 & 16) but I still get those mini heat attacks if I think something is serious with them so I'll never understand people like this or ones how abuse & mistreat or worse. I'm so happy they are away from her now. But what's that say about the man she's getting ready to marry? He's seen all this and still wants to marry her? And wasn't the last baby he's? I love that Beth's reaction to anyone being concerned for her is wrath, slurs, and curses. If you asked me, I would tell you that she's a self-centered narcissist. She is one of those people who MUST have the spotlight, and if she doesn't, she will cause hell over it. She's also the type of person that thinks she is fine, but doesn't really understand the damage being done to her mentally, and potentially physically. Finally, she seems like the type to think that any sort of mental health facilities are a scam and a waste of time. Fact is, she will never be okay. She will continue to be broken and beyond help because she refuses to change her ways and get help, refuses to acknowledge she's made any mistakes. Which is gonna make the day she gets her reality check, her revelation where she realizes she was in the wrong, that much worse. I wonder if she would even be able to handle it?
@elan8252 жыл бұрын
I think her realizing her errors, no matter how painful is the best case scenario, as it would allow for change. Personally, I wouldn't hold my breath. Personality disorders are notoriously hard to treat, and her extreme lack of insight or remorse and disdain for perceived weakness (like going to therapy) makes her an almost impossible case unless she undergoes huge changes.

Holly crap, those poor kids having "Beth" as a mom. It's so horrible when the mom is the bad parent because Moms are supposed to naturally want to protect their kids. As someone who made a lot of bad decisions, & married a man who was married when we started dating (he had lied & told me the divorce was final they only needed to go to court, didn’t find out differently until he left us & said I deserved it bc I slept w a married man) Sometimes when you grow up abused & in a toxic environment, you’re just super naive & bad at making good choices.
