Hi guys, little update that I tried this powder this morning as a setting powder, on top of foundation but before my cheek products and i MUCH prefer it this way...didn't dull my cheek products but I benefitted from the smoothing effect. So that would be my recommendation for the powder if you want to keep your luminosity! X

I’m so happy you posted this! I almost purchased when it was released but emailed hourglass customer service and the shades that are in this powder are dim light (permanent), diffused light (permanent) , and hypnotic strobe light (limited edition previous shade and not the metallic version).

I think this is the ambient lighting palette that has the 3 shades in it mixed together. A lot of people use that by running their brush across all 3 shades anyway so this is basically that in 1 pan. If you look at how much product is in that palette this is actually cheaper being $14US less and having around only 0.4 grams less product. The palettes ($64) have 9.9 grams of product total so they are around $6.40 per gram whereas this ($50) at 9.5 grams is more like $5.30 per gram so if you already use the ambient lighting palette all together this is a more economical product. If you don't mix them or like that palette then it's probably not your jam. I have fair normal to dry skin and sit in a room full of fluorescent lights at work so this level of luminescence speaks to me. I hope they introduce shades for darker skin tones, you'd think it would be easy enough to do given they already have the shades amongst the various compacts and limited edition palettes. I think this is essentially designed as an all in one for people already using the ambient lighting palette which is also for light/med skin tones and could also do with an updated extra couple of versions for deeper skin.

I mix the Luminous Light and Radiant Light to get the perfect finishing powder. I love the soft natural satin coverage while looking in natural light it's so beautiful. I would LOVE purchase the powder when Sephora carries it in the US. So glad its a satin finish and not so Luminous.

It definitely lightened you up and I was also expecting to see more of a lumi-glow. After you added the Chantacaille it looked nicer, not so flat. It is very pretty but I was expecting it to be more like their finishing powder with added glow. The only thing I can think of is that they don’t have a pressed matte powder (as far as I know) so maybe they were trying to address that gap... When I remember to do Mel’s buffing technique, I use that lightest shade in the Unlocked palette mixed with the Strobe Lighting Powder from that palette and that is a nice effect. I believe Mel herself uses an Urban Decay powder so I might check that out. By the way, your eyeshadow is absolutely gorgeous and I was very pleased to see it’s the ND Bronze palette because I wanted to have a play with that this weekend! 😊Have a great weekend Charlotte! xxx 💋

On my monitor, the powder gave you a very pretty soft focus effect. This color would work for me but in time companies should no better than to release ONE color of anything. Brilliant video Charlotte. That powder looks nice but they should’ve included more shades to make it more inclusive and added more luminosity to it. It looks gorgeous on your skin though and it’ll look even better on your winter skin as it’ll not lighten your foundation. I enjoyed your video ! I searched this product and ur the only video!! I did indeed order this product. I appreciate your video and I did subscribe. However, I do categorize your skin as Dark. I think it will perform differently on my skin which it fair. I guess I dont expect finishing powders to be shimmery. The laura mercier candleglow is baked and has 6 or so shades I think ud enjoy. I have heard good things about the Lancome absolu powder as well.

Since I already have one of their palettes I think this will be a pass for me. It's definitely not particularly illuminating but boy has it perfected your skin, it looks fantastic! If they'd marketed it as a blurring setting powder with a satin finish you'd probably be chuffed to bits with it but it's definitely not what it "says on the tin".

Great review as always! I'm super irritated that they won't tell us the damn shade names, which three? TELL US! I think it looks pretty on your complexion, but I can see how someone darker than you would look dull and grey, which isn't what anyone goes for, hopefully they have more shades coming out and this was the first to release?
