if any of you are going into year 8, please don’t worry or be nervous about work or tests. year 8 is such a chill year and fun so enjoy it, it was one of my favourite years along with year 9. both of these years just give you time to find yourself, and make more friends, as well as really finding out what you’re interested in. time will fly by so enjoy it😊

Just came out of year 8 and this advice is perfect use this year to find yourself and find REAL friends, find what u like, go to after school clubs i did dance and it genuinely was the best and i never thought in a milliom years i would do dance but i made such good friends with kids in other years and my own and relationships with the teachers although personally i dont think u should be worrying if ur not meeting ur target grades so early on and worrying about work just enjoin this year and HAVE FUN

I know when I was Year 8 I chose my GCSEs, so if any Year 8s are too here's my advice!! please please PLEASE make sure you sit with your parents and talk with them about this. It's a very important choice, and your parents will only want the best for you! when considering the subjects, think about what you enjoy and what ones you get good grades in if you're interested however in a subject you wouldn't have done before (e.g sociology, business studies, media studies) google what they're about!! you might end up being interested in them in fact, here's 2 for you: sociology is the study of society and how it functions/what it's like basically. So you'll dive into things like feminism, marxism, research methods sociologists use and the issues there are, socialisation (learning norms and values) and a lot more! It's such a good lesson economics is pretty similar to business studies. It's basically about the economy you could say. You'll learn things like the factors of production, demand, supply, the economic problem and lots more. I enjoy it! If you have to choose between a language and between history or geography like I did, with the language one go with whichever you find easier! And I won't care what you pick for history/geography but DON'T pick geography for example just because "it's less writing" or "you don't write as many paragraphs" or "I chose it for the trips". It won't be worth it then, do which one YOU enjoy please I beg you DON'T choose a subject just because your best friend is doing it. It won't be worth it. These GCSEs will help with the job you want in the future, so do which you'd like and not what someone else is doing that's it really, overall enjoy Year 8! It's a pretty chill year

Out of my experience year 8 is the most chill year. Year 7 you're new and don't know the place, year 9 you have your options, year 10 you got GCSEs, and year 11 you need to pick college ect. Year 8 is your year so own it!

hi my tps for year 8 don't take it so seriously (still do your work so you get into good sets) if your late , instead of saying: got lost, say 'i forgot what week it was) think about the lessons you like, you are gong to pick options either that year or the next the boys start to get a bit.... yeah.. teachers are less soft remember you just left year 7, you was them once, help them!

Im actually REALLY nervous bout going back to school i year 8 after lockdown etc, cuz oml i got in HUGE trouble many times, i got involved with the wrong people ( i go to an all girl school(so theres a LOT of drama)) i always thought id not get involved with the "popular" girls... i did. That got me into a lot of trouble....i changed my personality to fit in, that made me forget who I actually was..(still tryna figure it out) cuz of this i used to be paranoid about going to school, i would think like what if i get into drama again? What if i let my parents down again? What if i let my teachers down?Now i realised that lockdown has helped me, it has given me the time to just sit alone and think. Just think. Think about my decisions in yr 7. And i suggest whoevers is reading this do the same. Now im hoping to change myself into who i really am and try to fit in with everybody. Before i was all about finding that ONE MAIN group of friends that were "#friendgoals" etc. Now my goal for going back to school is to cherish every moment, be kind to everyone, get good marks, study as hard as i can, do my homework and not get others to do it for me, and not be a jerk to others im not close with.Thats all. No drama. No expectations, just pure studying and good manners.

Avoid road men and chavs, don’t insult Britain, just try your best in school and you should make friends along the way (some people call lunch dinner btw, and it’s not recess it’s break time here) :D
