MY ADVICE TO NEW YEAR 7's ♡

year 7’s, some advice from a year 9 student: -make sure you listen to your teachers, if you make a good impression on teachers it’ll make your life so much easier! -you might lose some primary school friends, but that’s okay! they have new friends but you’ll have new friends too. you might keep some primary school friends too! -dont worry! it might seem scary, but trust me, once you get used to it, you’ll be fine! -listen to what the teachers are actually saying. the things your learning are the basics, and if you listen, it’ll make further on in school so much easier! -finally, behave! if you behave, there will be rewards. also, it’ll be easier to focus and get into a good mindset. to all the new year 7’s out there, good luck!

Advice for year 7’s • try to stick to a few of your primary school friends but always make new friends as you won’t be in the same classes as all of your friends most of the time • be confident but don’t be ‘bratty and snobby’ • DONT try and be cool. Be yourself • be kind to everyone • stay away from drama which you aren’t needed in. And that’s about it

I live in Australia and we have NAPLAN in year 3,5,7 and 9 then we have ATAR in year 10,11,12 so by the time we get to high school we’ve been through the stress

My tips 1. Don't block the hallways it drives everyone mental. 2. Do not ask the older kids where your classes are they will send you to some random place 3. Join clubs and other activities I have met some of my really good friends in clubs. 4. Don't worry too much about the older kids they won't bother you if you just stay out of their way 5. Don't get overly stressed about exams they are important but not that important 6. Be yourself and be kind (that applys to everyone) 7. Have fun

My advice for year 7s As stated in a previous comment, DO NOT ASK OLDER YEARS WHERE UR NEXT LESSON IS If ur playin football or something, and the ball goes to a year 11, ask kindly for it back, otherwise they’ll probably just boot it away Don’t act cocky or things like that because the yr11s wil literally knock you down If you can get ‘packed lunches’ I would definitely recommend that. As the year 8/9/10/11s will just push in the lunch queue and it takes like 30 mins just to get ur lunch And that’s it rlly, btw I’m a yr7 rn just giving some advice for the upcoming yr7s as everything that I stated above has happened to me (Sorry for bad English)

i know i'm late as hell for this, but here is some useful advice too for new year 7s: • don't disrespect elder students such as year 8s, 9s 10s and 11s, it will leave a bad impression and you don't look cool. • pay attention in class as year 7 teaches the basic skills that will make your life so much easier in the later years, you can mess around and play but please take your work seriously. • leave good impressions on every teacher, regardless of whether or not you like the subject or the teacher. you will form a mutual respect between the teacher and yourself. • lastly, ask a teacher for help around the school and surround yourself with good influences, such as people who take their work seriously and are friendly. it will help you avoid drama in the future as well. good luck to any new year 7s, you'll have a good time in secondary school ❤

Klaudia elezi It’s okay! First, you have to develop a good, mental image of making friends, like thinking more about the pros of meeting new people rather than the cons. You could very well meet your newfound soulmate, and have someone to go to when in times of trouble and spend time with, having fun, doesn’t it sound nice? Start small, talk with people you are comfortable around and that you know. I had my doubts when making friends, too, but my best friend put me out there which is how I met my friend group. Be open, get to know the person, ask them questions about their interests, maybe you guys share something in common to connect with! Take small steps, any decent human being would be understanding of your anxiety. Finally, and most importantly, be yourself, be the best you, you can be, I’m sure you’re a wonderful person anyone would like to be friends with, Good luck!

I’m in year 10 this year, and just saying, year 7s, DO NOT ask an older student where your lesson is. They send you to a different place for a giggle. Do NOT act hard, or even talk/ show disrespect to the year elevens. They possibly won’t beat you up, but they’ll make fun of you.

hey i have some extra tip. you may think this is bad advice but trust me it is the best, youlle make the most of highschool if you take this advice -- in class, behave! listen to the teacher and follow the classroom expectations, sit next to a friend or if you dont have one in that class, try and make friends with one on your table -- however, at breaktimes, you can be wild! once you make friends with people or are with your friends from primary, dont just waste your tome standing and talking, or being antisocial. Do some dares, have a few waterfights but try to not get seen by teachers. You can literally have so much fun if you dont just stand around or be anti social, trust me its fun it's something to look back at when your older!

I had a similar experience😂when I was in year 7 (I’m going into year 12 now), on my first day I asked a year 11 where my English classroom was and she led me to a science classroom. Anyway, I was confused but still went in the classroom and as it was the start of term, the teacher in there was putting everyone in a seating plan. After she had seated everyone, I was the only person without a seat. Finally, the teacher realised I was a lost year 7 and not a year 9, but the whole class laughed and i got redirected to the English class I was meant to be in and I ended up being 30 minutes late and had to walk in the class while it was silent 😂it was like a walk of shame. So yeah, don’t ask for directions from a student! If you’re lost, ask a teacher.

My advice: 1. Make friends day one 2. Walk to lessons in a group 3. Talk to anyone and be friendly don't judge people before you get to know them 4. Don't forget about your primary school friends 5. Make the most of the drama lessons! They're so fun in year 7 cause it's pure icebreakers!

I’m a year 7 going into year 8 and from my experience don’t stick with the same friends 100% of the time , go off and try make new ones and invite them to your other friends.Friends come and go and tear 7 ( speaking truthfuly) is that time , everyone is trying to fit in even if it means pushing you away.
