+Hijabi in Seoul City I would be more interested to watch of video of your experiences as a Somali in Korea, the cultural differences and your overall views of Korea. I think a lot of young Somalis in the Diaspora would take so much from your experiences and feel encouraged to travel and explore more.

I think it would've been better to do this video inside. The wind is really strong and I couldn't at all understand some words. Otherwise I think it is a wonderful video and hearing other people experience who are living in Korea, while being from different religion and country. It is really interesting and people are definitely more accepting other cultures than they used to.

It surprises me just how many muslims are in Korea. I have no problem with any religion as long as they respect others and do not encroach on their beliefs and settle the difference in non-violent way. Nothing irks me more than extreme Evangelical Christians in Korea who desecrates ancient and folk statues and totem poles and sing gospel songs in Buddhist temples and telling them they'll go to hell unless they converted. Absolutely no respect for others what so ever.

Emilie Lysed I think you will have a great time if you do decide to go to Korea! 1.) Is it expensive? Well I guess this all depends on where it is you will be moving from as well as what your expenses will be. For example, is housing covered with tuition. Since I worked in Korea, my housing was covered which made it even cheaper for me to live there. I would also have to say, compared to where I live in America, I found transportation to be easy and cheap. Food is also pretty cheap. That being said, hopefully someone who studies there can give you a better idea of what life is like there for a student. I would recommend posting a question on reddit they have a sub called /r/korea. If you google reddit Korea it should come up. 2.) I am not sure which city would be best. I lived in Busan and I did find a nice masjid there, I haven't checked other cities but I'm sure there are some other masjids. Seoul is a very diverse city so maybe you'd feel more comfortable there since people are use to seeing a diverse array of people but I do think people will be pretty open in most if not all cities. Also feel free to PM me. Hope this helps.

Oh hunny i think you shouldnt worry. Humans fear of what they dont know. I think if they threat you differently, its because usually what they know islam just by hearing here and there. Probably they will be curious, if they are rude, its because they dont know islam. But when you show them who you are, they will like you, and threat you nicely. And Korean people are generally nice, so dont be afraid! We wont have opportunity to come to earth again when we die. So dont be afraid to take some risks just because you are not confident. Living in an another country is an amazing experience. :)

ITS everywhere you go if your skin is black then you will be discriminated against you can't run you can't hide not that you're trying to but it's everywhere no matter what religion you believe in or worship what are you Christian Muslim or any other they do not like black people not talk about people of color as far as Hispanics even though that's not a racist culture they even have the nerve to be racist so keep your head up be proud of what you are and don't let it bother you set your focus on where you want to be and where you want to go don't let no thing or no one stop you peace
