Phoebe and Cole are such a classic couple, they represent the idea that this burning passionate love can conquer all, and in reality, it doesn't quite work like that. Love cannot sustain a relationship where people's lives are going in opposite directions. There has to be compatibility in regards to things like morales, life goals, and emotional needs. Love is great but sometimes you need to love yourself enough to do what is best for you and that includes leaving someone who sets you back. Either way, the actors did a great job of portraying a deep emotional bond as well as genuine pain that happens when your destiny pulls you apart from someone you thought you'd spend your whole life with.

And on the topic of love. He had no choice to become source, but when the wizard was given the chance to take the sources power and restore cole, phobe stopped him, I stopped watching after they killed him and only started watching the reruns after years..I will never get over what they did to hm

@@robincercone5117 I lot of people have so much faith in Cole and want Phoebe to take him back. When you date a Cole like I have you understand why she was cold to him and didn't forgive him. Cole had to many chances. When you keep trying to help change people it gets tiring and at one point you have to give up and let go. You can't change people have to want to change. He could have told the sister's many times what was going on but he didn't. He could have done right and make amends when he got out of the waste lands but no instead he became evil again and went after Phoebe and the sisters. He just wouldn't leave her alone after she told him many times that she didn't want nothing to do with him. The only thing that stopped him was for the sister to vanquish him. I'm so glad the writers made it this way to let people know that they can escape from toxic relationships. I'm glad that she ended up with Coop because he was the better man.

I can't bear watching Cole in season 5. It hurts too much. The writers did such a bad job. The sisters should have freed Cole from the Source without vanquishing him completely. He never chose to become the Source. Can't stand Phoebe in season 5

Phoebe could have been crowned Queen in season 4 finale, we could have had that whole storyline better developed in season 5 and Cole as the Source could have been vanquished in season 5 finale. It would just work so much better and it would also give more time for Piper and Paige to have to learn to work like sisters and teammates. As for the baby, not sure if they should have kept it and have it be vanquished like it was but it definitely shouldn't have been so quickly dealt with. Demon baby or not, it was still Phoebe's baby and they just never mention it again, even when her whole character in seasons 6, 7 and 8 becomes about wanting a guy and having a family. And Leo saying that he's looking forward to having a good baby in the family with Piper IN FRONT OF Phoebe who JUST lost hers was just insensitive.

I was 17 when this episode aired and I was such a romantic sucker back then. I really thought it was unfair that these two ended like this. Since then, I have fallen in love and had my heart broken. In hindsight, these two never should have tried to make it work in the first place. Seems like Cole was always just a means to an end, fulfilling the Charmed Ones’ destiny to vanquish the Source but at a heavy price. Considering everything, what Phoebe said to Cole was too kind. It would be more appropriate if Phoebe said, “Oh I don’t know Cole, maybe because you’re an infamous witch killing demon charged by the Source of all Evil to kill me and my sisters. We were fools to ever believe what we had was real.”

I'm gonna watch Nip/Tuck (only seen a few episodes and I think I will like it very much like I did Californication back then when I wanted to see something different about David Duchovny) but I will always wonder how writers could have been soo stupid for not creating a better way for him to leave the show....

To me, the TV show ends at 4th season. Cole and Phoebe, were the reason why I liked so much this TV show. Also the 5th, 6th, 7th, and the last one were bah. I just can't understand why they made that couple ended like this. I would loved also to see in more chapters Phoebe as a evil queen. Bad. Very bad!😭

They completely ruined his character in this episode, let alone season 5. If Cole wouldn't even think about cheating on her while he was the Source, why the hell would he do it as Belthazor? He absolutely worshipped Phoebe from beginning to end. There was nothing to suggest he would ever cheat on her. This was clearly a case of bad writing. They needed an excuse for the fans to turn on him and side with Phoebe. And yet it was so poorly executed. You literally came away from this episode feeling sorry for Cole and thinking Phoebe was a complete bitch for the way she treated him. And don't even get me started on Paige turning invisible to try to vanquish him on his birthday, of all days. That's so fucked up. Was it any surprise that he'd become mad by this point?

Remember when Phoebe and her sisters went to kill him, then Phoebe found out that Cole wanted to die, then she refused only because he wanted it? She was a complete bitch in this season, even when he was trying to be good. Turning him evil again was such a big mistake, these two completely got ruined, I don't know what the writers were thinking, it's always been hard for me to go back to Season 3, they were so good and this is how you end them. At least he came back as a good guy in Season 7, but Phoebe didn't even know, so stupid. I lost interest in the show because of this, I only watch the first 3 seasons and the first half of the 4th, before they ruined him.

You can see his heartbreak and it s devastating, poor guy. For those who defend Phoebe and the sisters, and hate on Cole, let's not forget 1) He became the source to save them, otherwise they would ve been killed 2) He only lied because he was being manipulated by the source 3) He was gonna give up his powers and Phoebe, being manipulated by the spurce's heir, stopped him, yet she didn't even acknowledged it later 4) Season 5, ep 1, he was going to leave and Paige stopped him (selfish) by showing him how much Phoebe loved him 5) Because Paige showed him Phoebe loved him, and she admitted it, the guy started thinking he could still have a chance, 6) He tried to be nice and Phoebe put him down every single time, telling him he was evil and would never change 7) He got rid of his powers again when Paige was tricked by Barbas and yet the sisters gave them back to him because they could not be smart enough to do something else 8) Phoebe drove him over the edge and he eventually went crazy Bottom line, Phoebe was such a nasty bitch in season 5.

They were fine until he saved them from certain death by absorbing the source and being possessed. Then out of love for her he tried to get the source out but she prevented him (although she was manipulated into it). Then he allowed her to kill him. He asked her to bring him back from the wasteland but she abondoned him. He absorbed loads of evil powers to make his way out and they turned their back on him. When his powers were stripped he still took them back to prevent other demons harming them. The only mistake on his side was being such a simp for her. Should have just hooked up with someone younger and better looking

I'm sorry, but this could've hit! Cole only did this as a last-ditch effort! Phoebe & everyone else kept cruelly spitting in his face, telling him he'll never be anything but evil because of his DNA. Cole is no angel, but his bad decisions aren't really brought up, something Cole had little control over! I kept yelling at Phoebe to shut up! They never acknowledge the part Pheobe plays in the Cole storyline! I wish Charmed had some acknowledgment that it's unfair to expect Phoebe and her sisters to be perfect all the time. They're only human, after all. However, Phoebe often plays the victim because someone doesn't want Phoebe to look heinous! They're tricking the audience into siding with Phoebe! That's terrible writing! If I could change one thing about the show, I would give Cole a redemption arc and a better ending.
