I have been doing similar for last few years. I also like saving parts from the retractable ink pens - especially the little springs. I have used the springs over bugle beads and those funnel shaped tips make good tops for beaded tassels.

I have been saving those pieces specially the metal part of the pen to make earrings and the actual pen ( the clear part) to make fabric beads and I got that idea from Secret Soto channel, she’s great saving recycling things and using it in art. Love what you did with the pen.

They are really neat. I kept waiting for you to take another of the silver ends, reverse it, and put it on top. . Ha ha. Like that!! The actual ink tubes, where there is no ink, can be cut into lengths and used as beads. They can also be colored with alcohol ink. Way back we used to color them but I have no memory of how we colored them. Loved the video. Just wasnt long enough. Ha ha!!! Thanks for aharing.

The tube part of the pen I use like you said by cutting them into like 1 in pieces or longer and wrap material , wire and seed beads and make Boho beads. I use bead caps for each end.

Hi - try using the plastic pen shafts to "blow paint" - dipping one end into paints and literally blowing into the other (clean) end pointing towards your paper... as sold in stores 😉

Loved watching this. I have numb fingers/neuropathy so I can't do this. I have an idea what to use the tubes for...use them to store beads in? Maybe use a tacky putty to put on the ends, something easy to take off and on as you need your beads? It would be pretty too. Also, kids may like the sparkly tubes...🤔 🙂

Also... Instead of cutting off the top part of the wire, bend it back and twist it around the pin - this makes sure all your pieces stay together and the loop won't pull out☺️

2 thoughts ~ 1) you can usually find packs of used pens at thrift stores, 2) & what about using the silver tips end-to-end; same direction or opposites...I’m thinking round bead between points as an example...Also, for those of us who don’t do Facebook tutorials ~ how about showing supplies &/or tools & the names...ex: gourd pins? ~ craft or hardware store? FYI, if you would take the end of the pen and blow a couple of times put the cap back on then place the tip into some alcohol for a couple of minutes, then try the pen. Should work ... If not, preceded on

There are some long dangles hooked together onto a stainless steel long pin which craft people are using to put in&out of their glue bottles, to keep them from drying out as they use the glue bottles...🤔😁

Like the idea of recycling But they look cheap and generic And i don't think it works for steam punk .My daughter's into this and we didn't like this look . no matter how we arranged things😔 The pen shafts can be made into a bud vase s ,we set them in polymer clay . 1.2.3 or more shafts put in to the clay base. They came out very cute and cheesey😜 The colored rubber peaces i put on pencils/crochet hooks so they don't hurt my fingers!

Buy a diabetic syringe without the needle pull out the plunger stick it up to end of ink filler then press in the plunger to see if you can shove that gel ink up further into the filler. See if that helps
