Great video. When it comes to toilets, I suggest opening the waste tank valve and pouring some milk into the toilet, sending one crew member on the deck, and start pumping toilets until you see a white cloud in the water. By this trick, you will check if the installation is not clogged.

I had to instantly check and see if who we booked my charter with was that company you had issue with. I think we are in the clear on that. Another great stream sorry to have missed it live, was at the dentist.

Our boat had two water tanks, the charter company only filled one of them. The boat also only had holding tanks in the aft bathrooms, the info-sheet only specified a holding tank in the forward one. Took a few days to realize :( . All of the control lines were knotted with bowlines with barely any tails - 1cm at most. I'm surprised they did not fail. We fixed so many latches, handles etc. almost everything was lose, bent, poorly attached, or stuck. Then the bow thrusters failed. Then the swim-platform broke 100 nmi from the home-port. Quite exciting for our first time on a boat :D .

There are 2 types of deposit insurances I have seen - damage waiver (100% except for fuel and blocked toilets) and the excess reduction, when you only reduce max amount you can lose to a certain amount, e.g., 300 out of 3000.

Yes that is the general way it goes. Though I have seen a number of different ways they word it. Some with a refundable amount, some with none.
