I've never set foot on a Cruise ship. I did work deep sea ships for about 10 years. It was time to come ashore. 30 years ago, I still miss some aspects of the life. I was young free with no commitments. It was fun. This changed when I had a good reason to stay home. No regrets. Well some. Not enough to give up my life at home. You will find there are a lot of related jobs nearer home where your experience will be valued. Good luck enjoy life.

I’ve never worked on a ship but binge watched your channel for several days as research. And from our private messages I think there’s a good chance I’ll apply for a job. with regards to your channel changing direction I remember when you had that MSC cruise video and it was just really cool to see the employee turn into a passenger. i’ve never seen a passenger oriented, cruise channel done by somebody with so much experience working on a ship so you can be critical without being an asshole. And give credit for little things others might miss.

Hi Lucy. I would like to thank you for this platform you created. I started watching you before I started working on ships. And you were my go to place for everything I needed to know about ships. Almost everything you say is relatable and is sound advice. Working on ships is really Fun and an awesome experience, however it can be quite exhausting so I do understand if you want to stay home a little bit. 10 years is a long time and I also feel like you shouldn't work on ships for too long. Especially with the fact that there's no pension. Whatever you choose, I'll always be supportive and still watch your content. Hope your grandma gets well soon 🙏. Wishing you well on your future and happy festive season 🎆🎉.

Thanks for sharing. As someone who's a cruiser that's far past thinking about the days of working on a ship, I suppose I should be happy about your change in plans. I don't have any direct video suggestions, but I hope you continue to do well with whatever your career path takes you.

Be good to see more from the ‘passenger’ side. I’ve only done one cruise so far (another one booked) and go with my mum (have disability so cannot go on my own) and it annoys me because we have our own cabins we essentially have to pay for 4 people (I know some do solo cabins with single beds but when you’re 6ft2 and not the thinnest of guys a single bed doesn’t cut it 😂). So actually if you had tips on getting decent solo deals that could be helpful? Also if you were able to do more on accessibility (like those with tender ports aren’t really suitable for me, so I have to triple check every itinerary 😂). I know my wants for a vlog are vv niche

Lucy, moving on to a new area within existing chosen career is a natural progression, your past experience will put you in a good place to report the passenger experience to viewers. In time perhaps personal appearances eg at holiday shows might be of interest, meeting and talking about cruising as a passenger (or career) option. Personally, I'm not able to live away from home so working on a ship is not for me, but your past talks about life as crew has been interesting to watch and of course promotes the industry to a wide platform of viewers. Good luck for however your choices develop.

I started watching cruise related videos when cruising returned after COVID beginning with Jordan Bauth's channel from an ice cast member's perspective as well as Emma, Gary Bembridge and other cruise experience channels. I will soon have the time to cruise, myself and am looking forward to it. I'm glad to see things from the cruiser's pov and the pax pov having worked in the travel business as a pilot. I really have liked your perspective as a crew member bringing your knowledge of the operations to the experiences of the pax. Lucy why not do a video on what you've had to do to adjust to life on land this year? Remember when you'd say "i don't have to worry about this and that because i work on a cruise ship", well now it's time to show how you go about having to start doing all that stuff. Things like politics which you didn't have to think about before, would be impacting your life (and everyone in Britain). I'm interested in psychology so it would be interesting to me to hear how the adjustment has been.

Hi Lucy you have definitely red the room right as a cruising fan I've have stopped watching your videos because of the reason's you mentioned in this video.
