using the soldering iron to burn in the screw inserts is such an elegant idea... i never would have thought of that in a million years!

Thank you ! It's actually something that's done with dactyls for quite some time. I also tried nuts and threaded plastic, but this is the best solution in terms of design, ease of use, strength

Something strangely therapeutic about how this sequence makes the complexity of the article so simple and sensical. Also serves an example of honing one's craft, when compared to conventional keyboard hand wiring!

great video, and great work as always, I may have to build another after seeing those aluminum plate accents. I need to find a fab service that could make them for a decent price. cant wait to see more!

Thank you! Those are laser cut steel plates, stainless steel sandblasted I get them from laserboost which are very reasonable price-wise and fast

Better techpron of the year 😍😍😍😍 Can I ask to tell the ribbon cable manufacturer and part number? Want to repeat your build but can't find such cables anywhere 😢 Thank you in advance!

I bought a Charybdis Mini kit and at the time you guys were out of the premium kits. Is it possible to order the case and plates separately?
@bastardkb6 ай бұрын
Hello! We can certainly prepare a premium kit - but Nano only, we also need to order the cases as we're out at the moment. If you want to go forward feel free to get in touch by email

Great Product!! Just wondering if this is compatible with nice!nano? If not, do you guys have any plans to make it work with nice!nano?
@bastardkb Жыл бұрын
Hi ! There is someone who made it work (look for charybdis wireless on youtube). It requires a modified shield PCB, sensor PCB. The firmware is also not there yet. We are working on long-term plans for it though

Is it not possible to get the pcb files from the git hub or am I just missing them somewhere?
@bastardkb6 ай бұрын
Hey! You can see exactly the PCB files you need here: github.com/bastardkb/charybdis?tab=readme-ov-file#electronic-components

@@bastardkb Thanks so much! I don’t know how I missed that the first time around. On mobile the links were pretty well hidden I suppose. Thanks for what you do, these designs are beautiful.

are there no 3 legged diodes in this build?
@bastardkb Жыл бұрын
My 3x5 and 3x6 keyboards use only 2 legged diodes. I am also working on a prototype with diodes pre-assembled

is this hotswapable?

No unfortunately. The tension from the solder on the switches holds the PCB into place
