The guy in the black jacket is Lee Donghun, he is from group called A.C.E. He is really good singer one of the best in kpop. Also before he debuted as idol he was a vocal coach for middle school students. You should check out A.C.E's songs and covers, they are really good and one of my ult groups. Melia, the show you referenced (determining whether a person can sing or not by looking at them) was called "I Can See Your Voice". The singer in the black jacket (Lee Donghun from A.C.E, my ult bias btw), and the singer next to him on the end (Park Jeup formerly of Imfact) appeared in Season 4. Earlier this year, Donghun and Jeup released a single called "I Still". You guys might have fun with that one.

The unusual high note jump is intentional. The original also has the same note which is the highlight of the song. The original singer, Naul or his group Brown Eyes was well known for jumping high notes and came back like nothing has just happened.

Park Je up the one who did the note you discussed for long and re listened to a lot, is now one of my favorite voices in kpop thanks to that note right there. Every time i hear it it just gives me pause and calms me. Just goes to show that professionals really hear it differently from us.

As a long time fan of Naul, when this don’t go don’t go popped up on my yt feed thanks to whatever algorithm brought me there, I discovered Donghun of A.C.E, and he quickly shot up to being my one and only ult vocal bias It’s not just that he’s a great singer, but his vocal tone and emotive delivery There’s no one like Donghun (personal preference) who can sing straight to my heart By the way, the way they are singing may definitely be due to the nerves of being in the competition but also could be a stylistic choice. Although my bias is Donghun, all four singers in this team gave justice to this song, and it was the best song from this competition hands down for me (personal preference)

Yes this was the best song in the whole competition.. They should just have debuted them as a group right away.. I think the way they're singing will be a choice based off of a lot of factors.. Also I think a lot of vocal idols gets trained differently than non idols are in Korea, so some people might get some bad habits.. I personally loved Neon's voice a lot, especially since he's more of a R&B singer, he really impressed me a lot.. I love Hyukjin a lot and I'm sad 100% never got the recognition they deserved, but I'm happy he's still singing.. Jeup is just amazing, but maybe my least favorite of these 4 😊

@@lunarsensitive1 I think it was agood thing it was soo spread out, because they were all soo good.. I didn't agree with the judges in "If You" that only Jay Chang got votes.. I think Hayoon did soo well and should have gotten votes too.. But the show was sadly biased towards Jay from EP 1

It makes me a little sad cause this performance was one of my least favorite and I don’t really think y’all will see this so I really hope you get to see those other songs because they are absolutely outstanding.

WOW, least favorite, I'm surprised.. It was definitely the best put together performance where everyone shined and they sounded like a group, which I didn't really feel with any of the other groups.. It was probably also one of the hardest songs to perform, in the first round.. Funny how different we all look at these performances 😊 I only remember two other performances.. My second favorite was Tomboy, that was a really good performance as well.. One of my least favorite was If You, even though I love the song.. Some of the artists i really grew to love was Hayoon, Neon, Bain, Gwang Seok, Haram, Seo Hyung, Min Wook.. I already knew Minseo from another show, so i was happy he at least ended up in the debuting group.. Just sad the show ended up being a popularity contest instead of what it was promoted as 😊

since it's a ballad and it's very old song.. I think the singing style is very different from what we hear in kpop songs or modern songs where certain singing choices are required for some members, “since the song name is ‘don’t go’ I think you had to hold back your breath to show that desperate emotions?idk” - but also I can say that the pressure of getting on stage after years for some people in this performance is part of it, and as for the highnote part it's the right note (just like the original song too) but I think it's a personal preference for how it is heard from one person to another, but even the judges agreed that Donghun (the guy in the black suit) was the best for this performance.. anyway, im always enjoying your comments!!

Have you guys ever reacted to Park Hyo Shin? His songs Wildflower and Goodbye are incredible. His name "Shin" means god in Korean, and he is nicknamed "The God of Singing" in Korea. He's 41 years old now and been singing professionally for 22 years, so he really knows his craft.

1st group's song was originally sang by singers that mostly uses the old korean way of singing rock ballad. The original singer group is called "SG WANNABE". I don't know a lot about singing techniques or such but I think the old rock ballad technique of Koreans are real different now compared to the recent rock ballad releases. There's a charm to it that's similar to the trot genre.

Personally- the breathing part for the first team i believe the breathing is more of a stylistic choice to show more of the emotion… i think without the consistent breath the song would be just pretty but lacking emotion.
