Taylor's songs are "relatable" to teenagers which has the biggest chunk of the demographics so a lot of people believe that she's a "great" writer. I have to give it to her, though: not all the time her songs are tutti fruity (maybe 5% of her discography), like "Better Man". But yes, saying that she's a great writer is a bit of stretch.
