Pyramid head's chase music was created for the game, but it was made by the silent hill game's resident composer, Akira Yamaoka, and honestly really reminds me of some of the most industrial tracks off of silent hill 2's soundtrack, like ashes and ghost

@@theARoberts They're really compressed, distorted pitch shifted screams even in his chase music. The point IS that you're not supposed to hear it, because he's a serial killer that likes to hide the fact that he's killing these people. It's REALLY compressed, higher pitch wailing noises of several people mixed together, you can run it in Audacity and basically check that it hits the same frequencies.

When I was playing Susie with one of the mix tapes, at the end of the match I got a msg from one of the survivors saying that they were too busy jamming out to the music to really even kite me. Sometimes it’s just fun to chill with survivors and run with them with the music jamming

the trickster's chase music does have screams, theyre the ones that sound like sirens. they just changed it so if he did release into the real world he wouldnt get caught. and it seems that his chase music and menu music are his tracks, its just that bhvr never really made it official so we can only speculate

The reason I'd expect it to be somewhat more obvious is (and correct me if I'm wrong) didn't Yun-Jin figure out Trickster was the killer by recognizing the scream off one of his tracks to the voice of a recent victim she heard on the news?

I really like that Dredge's chase music matches how he's a shambling collection of reanimated corpses, I like how Wesker's matches his melodramatic, narcissistic nature by being very large and epic feeling with a whole orchestra. With Nemesis they use it completely differently using string instruments to make him feel almost inevitable like a wall of destruction and death!

I would love to see an updated version of this list since Hag just got her own chase music and survivor POVs being taken into consideration but I really enjoyed the video!

Of course they would release new music for Hag four days after I published this video! 😂😂I will probably do an updated video one day once more Killers and unique chase musics have been added to the game, and make sure to take into consideration the survivor POV's as well. That said, so you don't have to wait for it to know my thoughts on Hag I'd put her now into B-tier. The percussion makes me happy as a drummer, but it's a bit repetitive and the lack of much fade out is weird to me. Still better than the same default over and over again though.

Artists reminds me of the classical song flight of the bumblebee and its one of those that they would use in cartoons when people were running around fast and frantically. So it makes perfect sense for a killer associated with a swarm of crows.

Big fan of The Legion's music and whoever came up with the idea that the mix tapes should alter the chase theme, deserves a raise. Plus the music does fit what the mix tapes descriptions were, Julie's was Doom metal, Joey's was Industrial metal, Susie's was Thrash/Speed metal, Frank's was Death metal. The Fuming mix tape was the Entity itself lend its vocals to the chase theme. Second to the Legion would Nemesis's chase theme. The music makes you feel just as powerful as the Nemesis and seems to encourage you to hunt everyone. Wesker's chase theme makes me think of going against a final boss, which for Wesker is perfect.

The chase music for trickster is canonically music that the Trickster composed himself. The sirens you hear in the chase music are heavily-edited versions of the screams of his victims.

For pyramid head I believe one of the original composers for the early games was brought on to produce his theme So even tho it was made just for DBD, it's still got the feel of old school silent hill For wesker it's also an original theme but the orchestra and the aggressive and bombastic sound just creates an air of grandeur that absolutely fits him like a glove

Fun fact you could've added for Steve was that originally the Stranger Things DLC was meant to include only Nancy & The Demogorgon, eventually, the devs decided to add Steve. This can kinda be hinted at in the lore when Nancy was picked by the entity to be taken and Steve accidentally stumbles on it and gets taken as well

the first dbd game i ever played was against a demogorgon on crotus prenn. i have a vivid memory of hiding in a locker while the killer patrolled around looking for me and being just absolutely _unnerved_ by the music that played. it was an incredible introduction to the game and really had the exact feeling i wanted from the game: pure fear and helplessness, knowing the killer will eventually find you and it's just a matter of when. (they didn't find me but that feeling of terror and inevitability was still there)

Even one of the tracks on his live show routine could be described as more of a raping guitar instead of playing on it. Highly recommend listening to his creations.

so tricksters remixed the screams the point is you're not supposed to be able to tell theyre screams. Its kind of like hiding but that errie piercing noise is a heavily edited scream. A lot of artists do this for fun, theyll make music out of things they find on their desks or something and alter and stretch and do all these things to make it sound unique

With Pyramid Head's chase music, it is not from Silent Hill, however it was composed by Akira Yamaoka, who was the composer for the Silent Hill games if I remember correctly (or at least Silent Hill 2, since that is the game that this version of Pyramid Head comes from)

I know this video is older, but I wanted to point out something about the Artist's chase music. You mentioned it seems like a flock of birds chasing you in a horror movie. To me, personally, I associated her music with some moments from The Wizard of Oz, when we see scenes with the Wicked Witch. I wonder if the aesthetic of the crows was inspired by that, maybe?

4:15 Hillbilly got his own chase music back when Tome 5 came out. That's because that's when Hillbilly got reworked to have his chainsaw overheat. The same happened with Doctor when he got reworked, and now most recently with Nurse and Hag.

Way late to the party here but I do like Ghostface's chase music; I think it feels driving and intense and plays on that incessant paranoia that not only has he found and stalked you, but now he's ON you and you can't escape him. As if he's outplayed you and could be anywhere and he knows that, a plan coming to fruition. It's like a driving heartbeat or the ticking down of a clock, like now you know you've run out of time. The unnerving rise and fall in the background doesn't help either, evoking that paranoia and terror even more yet. It does sorta evoke the mood of Scream a little too, but moreover it sort of wraps you in this idea of a relentless Killer that could be anywhere, anytime, come from any direction, he controls the field and you don't. There truly is nowhere to hide and his theme feels like it.

The sirens in tricksters chase music is meant to symbolise the screams of his victims but massively auto tuned so its not too obvious that he was using screams in his music in the real world.

That's what I figured, a lot of others have commented that those are indeed supposed to be real screams distorted to the point of not being recognizable. The reason I would want there to be some recognizable aspects is because of Yun-Jin's lore, she recognized the scream of one of his victims, so I would expect them to be somewhat recognizable, even if it's not apparent at first. A good example is in his trailer.

If you're interested in hearing the Trickster's lore being incorporated into chase music, I'd definitely recommend Cursed Idol by Jon Rob, it plays off the idea of Trickster's victim's being part of the music and actually sounds like something he would make!

You said about trickster's song not being his song, but it actually is! The high-pitched sound we hear during the chase is the victims' screams mixed with the music. Because the trickster doesn't want to make it so explicit that they are in the music, he hides them in his creations

i havent played much resident evil but from what i remember some of the boss fights had that type of theme to them (as in the high soprano voices that you can hear in the background of the chase music) so yeah some bits from the chase are also from the game

Yeah, a few people have confirmed that it is likely not direct from the games but as I felt too it matches what is in the game perfectly in terms of style and composition. Same with Pyramid Head (especially considering that one used one of the original composers from Silent Hill).

I know that's what they were going for, I would just have loved it to be more apparent. We know that in at least one case it wasn't distorted as much in the lore because Yun-Jin recognizes one of the victim's scream.

That said, I'd now say that it is still a missed opportunity to not make the screams more apparent, since we know they were at least apparent enough at one point for Yun-Jin to catch on. What I hear on is track is so distorted that it's impossible to tell if they were originally screams or not, or just meant to mimic screams.

So I was hoping for Wesker they would've used the theme you fought him in before he transformed in RE5 (like Winds of something?) that they also used in MvC3. Sadly it doesn't sound like it, but it may be the final battle theme with him in RE5.

I just would like to say about the Trickster, i'm almost fairly certain that those 'siren' noises we hear in the background of his chase music ARE the screams! He likely edited them into the songs that way

Both Nemesis and Wesker has the Shinji Mikami vibes going for them. The DBD team were able to get the music just right for both of them. Both tracks share many similarities from the games that Mikami created, and especially from the titles he made in the 1990's, such as Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 as well as a lesser known game called Dino Crisis.

A couple things: About Trickster, it DOES have screams in the music, its just easier to hear if you ljsten to the music isolated Also about pyramid head, the music doesnt come from SH but it WAS made by the producer of the music in that game

I like Deathslingers chase music because it reminds me of scenes in western movies of standoffs and duels, if you listen in the background they have the generic "dueling" music from the guitar while simultaneously having the slight harmonica when he is about to approach and start chasing you. I think that's pretty cool. Edit: Also, the terror radius sometimes shakes the maraca as if there's rattle snakes near or some shit 😂

Tricksters theme has screams but they are not really too audible but as a player with my headset at full all of the time I hear screams a lot in it. It also might not seem like screams because he most likely would not want his fans to know he kills people so he would try to not make it as noticeable but I definitely notice it.

TRUE FUN FACT OVERLORD:The survivor hitbox is a cylinder and with the survivor vaulting it takes exactly 0.5 seconds to get to the other side but while the survivor is vaulting the hitbox stays on the opposite side of the pallet or window then in the direction of them vaulting so when they do actually land on the other side of the vault the hitbox basically teleports to the other side and this also explains why some laggy killers get hits from the other side of the pallet when the survivor vaults and if the survivor is laggy you will get hit from ridiculous spots | off the record, breakdown, resurgence and renewal will apply if you kobe | The lingering aura of Awakened Awareness is still there, it's just coded to 0 seconds, so if you bring lethal pursuer with this you can bring back the original effect to 2 seconds of extra Aura | Doctors max static blast range is 40 meters by default but you can increase it with terror radius perks | While Demanifested as the Ònryó you also lose collision | while Myers is in tier 1 you have a 5% vault buff tier 2 you have a 10% vault buff and In tier 3 it's 15% | while you are stalking as either Myers or Ghost face you lose your collision and survivors can go right through you | Any type of insta down will be countered by off the record | Trickster only needs one blade to blind you with hex:third seal | Death slinger can shoot you then miss on purpose but you'll still be blinded by hex:third seal | your terror radius doesn't immediately disappear, your terror radius decreases by 10 meters per second.

I think that in Trickster's chase music there are screams incorporated, but they are edited like he did in his tracks. When the music suddenly goes like up and down I think this is edited scream and there are some more moments like that (Sorry, I'm not a musician xD).
