Man. I had not heard this song, and it had me bawling even before I realized it was from the doggo's perspective. And then I REALLY lost it. My rescue dog saved my life during a time when I couldn't find any reason, beyond her, to stick around. She passed a little over a year ago. She was the best girl ever. I've since adopted my first ever puppy, and raising him has been incredible. I didn't think I could love another dog as much as I loved my Messy girl, but I do. I am Arlo's person, and he lets me know constantly how much he adores me. So this song hit the feels both ways for me. Messy's gift, and Arlo's love.

I feel that. I lost my German shepherd back in September. I had him since I was 5. He was my best friend for as long as I can remember. I love my puppy so much much but I still can’t love him more than my shepherd. I’ve had my black lab for a year and he picked up so much from my shepherds, so he reminds me so much of them both.

First dog I had, I swore I could never love any other dog as much as I loved him.. now that I'm on my own, alone in the world, I have a new dog that's all mine and I love her more than anything else in the world. I didn't realize I could love with all of my heart in different ways

Thank you for doing this reaction! I'm a Chase Rice fan so I was all over this song when it came out. What inspired this was a true story about his friend who was holding a gun to his own head when his dog came up to him and just gave him a look, and that saved his life. I lost my lab of almost 14 years a little over a year ago and I miss him every day. This song is truly special.

This song tears me up every time. Lost two buddies this year & got me a black lab. No doubt Moose has saved my life.. living on my own now many miles away from anyone I know. Him and I just hop in my truck and go for a drive and its the best therapy in the world. Seeing the smile on his face with his head out the window could make the sadest man have a smile. In 2021, I lost my best friend of 15 years. We rescued him from basically death. He always was there for me through every single up and down in my life and I never fully understood the impact I made on him until hearing this song. Fantastic reaction to it.

Chase wrote this song because of his friend who was about to kill himself. He had the gun to his head and everything then his friends dog came over to him and laid his head down on his lap. That made him think of his dog which ended up saving his life. He then went to Chases house and told him what had happened so he lived at chases house for a while until his mental health was better. The guy is living a great life right now with a wife and kids. Chase asked him if he could make a song based off of his story and he said go ahead. So this is how this song was made.

As a struggling alcoholic that has been in and out of AA, this song hit really hard. Spent the last 17 years farming, growing corn, soybeans, hogs and cattle. The only thing I can say brought me genuine joy was having my dogs with me. Steve Buscemi says in 28 days "And my rule of thumb is, when you get home, get yourself a plant. I like spider plants, but whatever turns you on. Then, in about a year, get a pet. And then, if, in say two years, the plant and the pet are still alive, then you can start to think about having a relationship." This video paints a perfect picture of what we all want at the end of the day.. Its just harder for some of us to achieve than others.

I love this song so much. It made it more emotional to him (I think) that one of the dogs is his dog, Jack, and she named their son, Danny. The album cover is a photo of Chase's dad, Daniel. So it all ties together. The song is from the dog's perspective. I also think (not sure if it's confirmed, it's why he wrote it) one of his friends committed suicide, so it's another way to bring awareness to addictions/suicide, because even accidental suicide is still suicide.

I love the fact he came to take his buddy to Heaven. I bawl everytime I watch this. My husband died when my daughter was 5 months. We had a yellow lab that was exactly 1 year older than my daughter. They had the exact same birthday, just one year apart. My husband was a state trooper and was shot and killed on duty. As you can imagine, it was the hardest thing to go through….for everyone…including our lab. Her and my husband were BFF. He wanted her to be a hunting dog so bad but she just didn’t have it in her. lol. The only way my husband could get her up the mornings they would go duck hunting was to ask her if she wanted to go for a ride in daddy’s truck. It’s like a firecracker when off in her. She was READY!!! lol. When he died she almost did too. Literally. She quit eating and drinking….she would lay on his side of the bed and just whine. It was terrible. I ended up having to take her to the vet so they could pump her with fluids via IV. She was that close to death. She made it through and lived to be 13. It wasn’t always easy, but we all 3 got each other through some tough times. I can’t help but smile and shed a few tears as I envision her and my husbands reunion….just picturing their faces and how happy they were to see each other fills my heart. Thank you Belle for saving Me and your baby sis…even if we didn’t realize it at the time. We love you Belle and Scott aka Daddy. ❤❤
