I'm leaning toward the Preferred right now because it has the 3x streaming points and I don't do a lot of travel. Once I start traveling more, I may switch over to the Reserve.

I have the CSR and I love it. With the dining and transportation multipliers, it's the only card I use when traveling

CSP + Ritz, better effective annual fee than CSR.💳
@jeffho624426 күн бұрын
I currently hold the CSP along with both the Venture X and the AMEX Gold. With these 3 I really see no reason to get the CSR as the Gold covers all food categories, the Venture X offers the lounge access and provides a catch all card, while the CSP still gives you a .25 redemption bump along with 3x on streaming....I can't justify the CSR's annual fee in this type of setup.

You're paying more annual fees...$95 csp, amex gold $325, and venture x $395
@jeffho624410 күн бұрын
@@alexd5188 apparently I wasn't clear enough...if I had the CSR instead of the CSP (you can't have both)...and if I had the CSR I really wouldn't need the Venture X since I get lounge access with the CSR. It would really be CSR+Gold vs CSP+VX+Gold. So $875 vs $815...not a huge difference but when you consider the VX essentially pays you $5 just to hold the card the gap widens...

They should get rid of the chase dinning x10 multiplier or make it a better program. I just ignore it

True! It's not a great benefit for the card.

Lately thinking about downgrading CSR to CSP since I'll mainly use point redemptions for Hyatt. Not sure that Lounge usage, DD credits, and increased ins coverage is enough to outweigh the additional $325 for two AUs.

You can upgrade and downgrade between these two without penalties? For example, if I have the CSR, but then I downgrade it to the CSP. But, let’s say that I don’t really like the CSP, can I go back and make the upgrade again to the CSR without penalties?
@Spend.Earn.Travel.3 ай бұрын
Yes you can upgrade and downgrade between the Sapphire cards without a penalty. There is a waiting period. You do need to wait a year between each change. Keep in mind, it is also a request. Chase does reserve the right to not give you the change, but that is unlikely.

Do you have to cancel the card first or can you upgrade and still get sign up bonus offer after 4 years?

If I open CSR for one year and then after one year downgrade it, what will happen? Is it ok pay 95 for CSP?
@Spend.Earn.Travel.4 ай бұрын
You will pay $550 when you open the card, but if you downgrade after year one, your annual fee would drop to $95. You would be giving up the benefits of the CSR
