I am going with the CSP and Platinum duo to go along with Chase Freedom Unlimited and AmEx Gold. For my business I have the Chase Ink Cash and AmEx Blue Business Plus. I am set for a while after I get the Platinum later this year.

People underestimate the flexibility of platinum’s lounge access. I travel a couple times a year for work and a couple times a year for leisure. Centurion, delta, and escape lounges are in almost every airport. Priority pass blows in the states. No PP lounges in NYC, my home base. Sad as it is to say, my lounge access has been solely through the Platinum card’s network. Say what you want about the CSR having better lounges (which it very well may), there’s far less of them to matter.

CSR just opened lounges in JFK and LaGuardia also there are plenty of restaurants to take advantage of priority pass in the states.

@@Jmota23 this is very true, but I value lounge access not only on my outgoing flights but also my return flights. I love that chase and c1 have joined the lounge game, but their lounge footprint is comparatively small because they can’t get you into an airline co-branded lounge at airports where that’s the only option. That said, removing restaurants was a major blow to the platinum, and a benefit the csr has. If I was a regular Portland traveler, I’d definitely consider picking it up, but as of now, the flexibility of the plat’s lounge access can’t be beat in my eyes.

The CSR is literally also a coupon book with the Doordash and Instacart credits to help offset the AF. If you don't use those credits, you're $250.00 in the red unless you travel several times a year and you can maximize lounge access and PP restaurants.

I’m moving to Vegas July and I we going to apply for the Delta Reserve. Starting to think Sapphire may be the card for me. I don’t drive, work from home and will be traveling. Amex Platinum seems overkill. Curious to know if I can transfer point from Sapphire to Delta?

CSR is so overrated. After using the only credit you receive from this card which is the $300 travel credit, you are essentially paying $250 just for the ability to transfer your points

The travel/purchase protections and lounge access you get with the CSR pays for the remainder $250.

Especially when the Amex Platinum and Venture X get you lounge access for free once you take into account the other credits. And be honest, how often are you actually benefiting from the travel insurances?

I use Lyft Pink, so that's $200. I just ate a PP resto, so that's $56. I also visited the Sapphire lounge and between the food and drinks, I saved a ton money. It works for me

We don't even have Centurion, Sapphire or Capital One lounges here in Chicago haha we're totally forgotten. You have to get the United club card if you want an O'hare lounge. I can tell you though if Amex or Chase were to open a lounge here i'd get their card on day 1 of it opening. I'm honestly leaning towards the Altitude Reserve. I wanted to fly my parents out business class round trip somewhere in Europe this summer on points, but man... just to see the prices you have to make all these different accounts on all these different airlines, and the redemptions in the summer are horrible. I'd have to open up the Amex Platinum 150k + maybe a Chase Ink to have enough on top of getting the VX and Gold 90k offers. You also have about a Grand in "Fees" on top of your 300k+ 400k points for two people, and it's hard to transfer points around too. I don't even care about business class or fancy hotels. Give me a $50 Ryanair flight and a cheap hostel in Bosnia or Ukraine or something and i'll be happy.

It’s crazy that an airport as big as o’hare doesn’t have a single lounge. I wonder if there’s any reason for why that happened, as I’m sure people have tried. My guess is that there’s issues with renovating the existing building, or space is at a premium causing the lounge to be prohibitively expensive to construct. If we only had csr lounges in NYC, I’d get that card for sure.
