Even though I do not own any of your bags or shoes I was very impressed with all of your thoughts on how to take care of them. That's very impressive. You're absolutely correct. Your bags and shoes are quite expensive indeed you should maintain each of them. Great idea. Well done.

Yes, humidity and plastic inserted in bags to help hold their shape is a disaster waiting to happen. The leather will peel, even in high end luxury bags! I learned the hard way, but thankfully my bag was replaced at no cost. Can cause mold growth as well.

Love your tips, and the suede boots under the faucet was amazing! The only thing I would caution is using towels or clothes to stuff inside of bags. They have the ability to absorb moisture and can lead to musty smells in the bag. Reusing air pillows and bubble wrap are the best and safest things to use for sure!

These r such good tips. I have a pair of camel coloured rag&bone booties that I literally watch the weather report in order to decide if I should wear them. I thought about scotch guarding them, but always thought they would be discoloured. Glad to know there shouldn't be any effects. I always wondered how u kept the light coloured bags free of any colour transfer, so happy u shared your tips!

Really great tips, Amie. Like you I live in a city where winter means wet, really really wet, so I have avoided buying shoes that can't take water immersion. It never occurred to me to use Scotchguard. I have it on my furniture and it's fantastic but I never thought to spray it on shoes. Dah! I will have to try it. I have very limited storage space so I solved the packaging problem by buying a huge, sturdy, pre-loved Hermes box from ebay and I store all the small boxes from SLGs or jewellery in that. It's so sturdy that I can keep it on the bottom of my wardrobe and stack other boxes on top of it without damaging it.

Amie, this was SO helpful!!! Thank you so much for sharing! I'm going to try the steaming on my YLS tote! I have the same one as you (but in navy blue) and it has sooo many creases :( Does yours? I think it's because it's so flimsy... The bottom corners of my bag have a lot of creases because when I set it somewhere and it's not full, the corners kind of fold :/ Do you use a bag organizer when you use your tote? I believe you don't, but asking just in case :) I think this is one of my favorite videos FOR SURE!! Thank you! :)

Hi Amie, great ideas! A couple of tips from me. Suede reviver sprays are really good to refresh dark suede shoes/boots and for light marking on pale suede an artist's putty rubber used very gently works well. I also like to use shoe trees for some footwear to keep it in shape and remove creasing. For pure wool clothing a very fine water spray mist will remove any creasing after wear.

Loved this video! So useful. How often do you spray your suede items? And even if you don't clean your bags with anything, do you make sure to condition all of them regularly? I now make sure to rain proof all of my bags, I had my 5000eur brand new hermes bag ruined by rain and the leather got permanently damaged and can't be repaired..

Emil Karlsson Hermes leather cannot be sprayed with rain proof spray, it will turn patchy, your best bet is to bring the rain coats out.

Perfect timing! I was just going on and on about how I never get color transfer on any of my bags. What happens? MAJOR navy blue color transfer all of the back of my Gucci Soho Disco bag in red. I guess being in hot humid Florida all day was the downfall. I've tried a wet cloth, baby wipes and leather cleaner and nothing will take it off. I will have to try the Carbon Gold Cream. Fingers crossed, as I wear this crossbody bag the most for vacation and long day excursions.

bishieprince I was wondering the same. Amie do you spray your jeans everytime you wear it with a light colored bag or once is enough? I just wonder if the efficacy of the spray lasts through washing? Also, since you said the spray has a strong odor, do you end up washing your jeans after they have been sprayed and set? How often do you spray your suede items? This video was so informative!
