Holy effing squeeze me macaroni! This epitomes why I adore your channel so much. Your insights and enthusiasm are contagious. Periphery fanbase are divided because some can't get on board with Spencer's voice. Don't mind me I like him to sing me to sleep. And excellent call on the slapping and popping! Superior technical expertise projected! I love how people like to do things when people told them the opposite, so DON'T ever react to the song that got me into this band, Marigold. Brooooo!!!! Yes!!! Periphery is my number 1 band right now. They simply bring so many inspirations to the table and integrate them together flawlessly. Spencer has those brutal growls and screams but pulls out some really poppy melodies and little vocal embellishments. The guitarists..... well, you pretty much nailed it in your analysis. They all have their own styles and the result is a nice combination of power, technicality, and beautiful melody. The drummer does an insane amount of work making sense of the insane rhythmic elements and creating a percussion pattern that is easy to follow along. For a follow-up I highly suggest Reptile off of their recent album -- but only because it's a 17 minute epic that blows me away every time I hear it. On your own time though, I highly suggest you listen to the Juggernaut dual-album concept album (Juggernaut: Alpha and Juggernaut: Omega). It's a rollercoaster ride of ~80 mins of music with only 2 gaps between tracks and tells the tale of a person trying to understand life, and subsequently death, while having had a demon attached to their soul that wishes to only cause chaos. Anywho, I'm so glad that you enjoyed this as much as you did and I hope you the best on your journey through their music, if you choose to take that dive.

FINALLYYYYYYY you discovered Periphery!!!!!! I started listening to Periphery in 2012, short after their second full-length album was released. Make total Destroy was actually the first Periphery song I listened to. It was mindblowing to me. Now I own four t-shirts, two hoodies and all of their CDs. There is no band that influenced me and my musical preferences in a way that Periphery did. They have absolute chaotic bangers like Make Total Destroy, but also smooth and mellow songs like Lune from their third full-length album. I eff-ing love this band. If I may recommend you more songs: *Older ones:* Icarus Lives, Racecar (both from their first album, completely different sound and the latter being 15 minutes long) *slightly newer ones:* The Bad Thing, Alpha, Stranger Things (not related to the Netflix series), Marigold, The Way the News goes (yes, that is a Rick&Morty reference - this song has "happy" or joyful blast beats. Listen to it!), Flatline, Lune (prepare for emotional outburst when listening to Lune) *Songs from their latest album:* Reptile (a 16 minute masterpiece), Blood Eagle (a brutal banger comparable to Make Total Destroy) and Satellites. Satellites has an insane drum part after one third of the song and an absurdly high pitched note which gives me goosebumps even after listening to the song for at least a hundred times. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with this band. You have yet so much to discover, similar to when you first listened to Jinjer. I'm looking forward to more Periphery on your channel. Love that shit!

Yez! Still waiting for ng for more Periphery though! x) Yiur insights are just so good! Reptile, or The Bad Thing, and maybe some less often listened to but among my favourites, from the first album : Totla Mad, Zyglrox.... (And Jetpacks was Yes 2.0) I promise I stop now...

i’m sure i echo many other people when i say that i love the intricacies of your reactions. not only do you hear the things that most people accept as ambience or a fabricated effect, but you have the ear to know what true talent is and you respect it. i absolutely love that, and thank you for making this best reaction video for my favorite band.. it made me so happy the first time i watched this, and that happiness is reproduced every time i watch it again. if i might make a suggestion, please listen to their song “Omega”. there is no music video for it, but i absolutely guarantee that if you thoroughly enjoyed this song, you’ll be absolutely blown away by Omega. you don’t have to make a reaction video for it, but the beauty of that song absolutely has to grace your ears. thank you for truly loving music, in the best way possible.

Their bassist is an english bloke called Nolly Getgood. He still tracks the bass in the studio but stopped performing as a band member a few years back, as he wanted to focus more on his producing / mixing work and family. If you're interested: every record they produced has a sort of 'making of'-documentary on their KZbin channel. Jeff Holcomb, brother of guitarist Mark, does all that stuff for the band. A nice way to see them working together and to get to know the individual members a bit better.

you put things so simply and clearly I love it, such an incredible take on music I love. I'd love to see you go back to older periphery with zyglrox. beside that song, periphery has something for just about everyone with all of the different tastes they hit in their songs. on top of that they have decently deep catalog of stuff to dive into. I'd love to hear what you think about their other sides!

With absolute respect to everyone involved, this vocalist's clean vocal gives me major Chester Bennington vibes. I loved some Linkin Park, so I mean that as a compliment.

Satellites or Reptile by them.. Both are just masterpieces! Side note I love your passion and ear for music man. It was a joy to watch you break down this track and not leave a single detail out :)

It's funny, I've been a Periphery fan for a couple years now but because I don't know much about music, songs like this are still hard to appreciate the way you can. The guitars primarily in this track sound so busy and chaotic, it's almost like there are no riffs. I can almost find no pattern, no beginning and end to a phrase. Glad you liked it so much, there's a lot of great stuff to listen to. No idea what to recommend, you'll like all the popular recommendations.

From one south african to another really loving your channel. Loving the technical breakdowns you go through. Also would love this analysis on another Slaughter to Prevail song called Agony. I think you'll enjoy it. It straddles like 3 or 4 metal sub genres, and is Alex Terrible at his best! Anyways, keep doing what you're doing!!

@@ChaseCarneson They are easily good enough to do so. Nightwish is my favorite band. Periphery is also top 3 for the same reasons, just all much heavier.

There's a video floating around somewhere out on the web of Matt Halpern and Matt Garstka (sp. both last names?) just jamming out for like 4 minutes. Well worth the listen.
