Lanternlight is missing form this livestream because KZbin decided to take the stream down at the very very end. Nothing I can do about it but trim it out. Thank you to all how watched with me, it was an amazing experience. I Appreciate you all. For those who saw it live, hope you enjoyed as much as I did. I'll be back with more livestreams soon. HADG

Dude your comment on how bands need to evolve is true! I've loved the band since 2004 and i remember all the changes in members and in sound. That's not a bad thing to change your sound. Dark passion play for example is so different from Once or even Human Nature but i love aspects of all of them. But their ideas are their own and they express it the way they want 🤘 and i love that the studio people let them do that

I came here to see, does Chase get through this with out air drumming injury 😁 …Btw, you mentioned about NW version of ”High hopes”. You should know that it is a tribute more than a cover. Nightwish made it as their own style version. Definately worth to check and I think a lot of us wish to hear your reaction to it.

First time seeing them was in Amsterdam 2022, both nights. First night I went alone and loved taking it al in for the first time. For the second night I had won two VIP seat tickets and took my sister there to share the experience with her ❤ As for reacting to High Hopes, please do! 😊I actually think comparing the original with the Nightwish version is not a great idea, just enjoy it for what it is as an amazing Tribute

Greetings from the UK. At last a sensible reaction to Yesterwynde. This is rapidly becoming my favourite. album (not just Nightwish who I have followed since AngelsFall First). Although I am probably what we in the UK call a "boring old fart" (in. my mid 79's) I hope to have a few more years of being on the same planet as the whole band and especially the fabulous Floor. I have to say that I am getting fed up with all the "personality reviewers". Ignore them and keep up the good work

You asked at one point where watchers are from. I'm watching this afterwards, but just let you know that I'm from Finland and therefor I have seen Nightwish 9 times 🤘. And first time was in 2000 in Tampere pakkahuone and that gig was recorded as for the Wishes to eternity dvd 😅 And latest was in Vaasa 2023, which wad their last before break. And I have listened them from 1997. Also I was there in Tampere where you reacted the "Greatest show an Earth" 😎 and that was probably best live act I have ever seen.

When your favourite band is working on new material it is natural to be excited, anxious, hopeful, wanting to like the new material not wanting to be disappointed and then, the big reveal....... "Yesterwynde" as a cohesive collection of songs is sublime and gets better and better with each and every listen. The evolution of Nightwish is a joy to behold 🙏😊👍❤️

Thanks to YT's failure to send the requested notification I missed the livestream so am catching up. Obviously all the obvious comments will have been made so I have two observations: 1. Chase, you can't catch everything but you catch more than most so keep doing what you do so well. I do t care if it's not a first reaction because the things you point out could catch something more on second (or even more) listen. 2. All the best to Clive and family. A stalwart of the Nightwish army. Apart from that, High Hopes would be good - you don't have to know the original, it's a remarkable performance regardless.

In the documentary "PLEASE LEARN THE SETLIST IN 48 HOURS" Tuomas said the used to be hard for him before getting live, afraid of making mistakes. But eventually he realized that he is human and will make mistakes and simply need to accept them and move on.

Thank you so much for the full album reaction, Chase! Currently watching this and I have one feedback: could you not read comments in the middle of songs in the future? Or maybe you could take deliberate pauses to read them and then get back into the music? I have always loved your reactions, and I feel watching this that the songs are more playing in the background this time (compared to your usual style). And it's a shame since you are such a great reactor. But loving your stuff as always, don't let my slight criticism hit too hard, I just love your thoughtful way of doing reactions. Thanks again! Can't wait for the High Hopes and concert reactions!
@keltavuokko8 күн бұрын
And now that I've seen the whole stream here, I want to say again that despite my small criticism, I did enjoy watching this and would have loved to gush with you about Children of 'Ata for example - that song went immediately into a playlist of favourites, and I was once again glad to see your face light up whenever you heard something interesting or delightful during the course of a reaction. Your reaction to the end of Weave was certainly a joy to watch, to give one example of the many. :) So thank you again, have a great Sunday!

I think the only song on the album that would greatly benefit from having Marko on vocals is Something Whispered, especially on the chorus. Troy does it on the second chorus, singing "Followed me..." after Floor, but if they had Marko singing right behind her throughout the entire song, ala Ever Dream, I think this song would go from a 9 to damn near a 10. Other than that I really appreciate what Troy brings to the table with his vocals, there's a warmth in his voice that I really enjoy. And we wouldn't have Sway or Hiraeth without him.
@117k700178 күн бұрын
Yes, true. But also wonder if Marko was in the band would there have been some tweaks where his voice would have made a big impact. How the songs are now it seems he is not that much needed, but I am sure he could have been powerful in some surprising places

hi! this was great😊 couldn't make it for the livestream, i was working. as for the High Hopes cover, i think it is great to witness even not being very familiar with the original, even not knowing it at all: it's an awesome tribute but still they made it their own....just my personal opinion, but i think many would agree. i hope you check it out and enjoy as much as i do (no hate please: i prefer nightwish's over the original, which i still love anyway); may i suggest the end of an era live instead of the studio recording? they carry so much emotion and intensity ❤ peace, love & joy
@ericared227 күн бұрын
also, regarding my suggestion of the end of an era version: given the lyrics, it was so fitting for that night...the 4 of them performing this one, they all knew what was gonna happen after that concert (and with hindsight all of us do too).....anyone can perceive the emotion they convey, but with that knowledge it hits on a whole different and deeper level. being unaware this is a cover song, many could easily think it was written expressly for the occasion

Not able to unfortunately. That’s down to the publishers and KZbin. Might revisit it soon on its own but will have to wait for that one.
@Drinckx28 күн бұрын
@ Well that’s a damned shame. Of all the Yesterwynde reactions I’ve been enjoying, Lanternlight is the main one. No point revisiting once you’ve seen it as reactions are always preferable to reviews. Oh well, I enjoyed the stream and look forward to your response when the monk with a missing testicle writes to you to complain. Presumably, he’ll be writing his missive with a Uniball pen.

Well i heard Tuomas talk about reactions to, and what he say is, he dosent watch them, because its best for him, its not that he dislike reactions, he just prefer to stay away from all the comments and stuff, as its best for him not to get bombarded with all these opinions..

I'm watching it again because I was a bit distracted by the chat yesterday. In regard to the telephone story: Jan Willem Roodbeen asked Floor if it was true she once said she could sing the phone book. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKWzoYyYeM2JftU 2:04. So maybe Floor has got this idea from you|

its not a slip! look at all the live GSOE performances, that section? its always got a few weird notes in it when Tuomas plays those few bars. My take? Its the mutation of DNA prompting evolution.

Compared to all other music, this is graded an "A". Compare to earlier Nightwish, a "C+/B-. Nothing on this release is as good as Endlessness or Shoemaker. Life is too short, I only have time for the Best that all have to offer. With that in mind, everything will be ok.
