I’m going to go out in the Spring, if all goes well. I have some similar items, and haven’t some of the others you showed here. Awesome table, awning and the small charger w/ multiple plugs. Great video. Thanks. And also? Thanks for telling folks that they don’t NEED all the expensive items and things you have and encouraging them/us to get out there, regardless, eh?

Great job, just signed up to your channel!! Love the gadget’s, thanks for doing all the homework on the offered items so that we don’t have to. You’re well spoken and your range of items described are great. Keep you the hard work, I know it’s difficult to edit footage just for our enjoyment. This is Alan, greetings from Riverside in Southern California.

Your videos are amazing, simple, to the point, and constructive, not to mention your skills with drone aerial views. One item I haven't seen you talk about - or anybody else for that matter - is about releasing yourself, portable toilets or anything that is practical to carry with you or simply how to protect the environment. Keep those great videos coming.

Hey your channel is awesome. Started following a couple weeks ago when I built out my car and it's been super helpful. Was stoked when I heard you mention your fire experience as I've been applying to a bunch of fire crews for the 2022 season including a couple in Fairbanks. Have you talked about that anywhere else on your channel?

Nice gear reviews! I've had 2 Subaru Outback's (both my wife's cars) and I've found that upgrading the battery to a larger amp hour unit is well worth the cost. I went with the Interstate MTZ-34 AGM for my wife's 2019 Outback.

Nice video! Very similar to the gear that I use with my Outback, I even have the same mosquito nets. Although I would like to add that a water purifier/filter bottle is very handy if you don't want to fill your car with large jugs (especially in winter when they freeze) but wanna get water along the way. Also a hot water bottle, that's gold to put in your sleeping bag on cold nights. I might also add that the NOCO can be used as a power bank for charging your phone as well. ...oh! and a small shovel, for when you get snowed in. There are these foldable ones that don't take up much space but are still really good.

Great vid! A lot of the stuff I have and some things that I still want to get. Just from what I've seen other youtubers do if your snow camping with the awning, lower one side of the pole to create an angle to let the snow run off.

I can attest to this video (after finishing a 5.5 week roadtrip a week ago) that the aeropress, MRS pocket rocket, and bug screens/window blackouts (made by "Qualizzi") were some of the most essential equipment. Also Yeti knockoff cooler from Aldi was great. Good cooking pans too.

Well said, i agree with all. What helped me most was the jetboil (clone), saw for wood, jackery (ecoflow) with solar panel from which i can run fridge much longer now, and smaller power banks. What you missed and i feel is important is sleeping - having a thick matrass or sleeping pad, and a good pillow (still searching for something small yet soft and comportable). The candle in a box is awesome, never heard of it.

thanks for these tips on gear --- very helpful. Some of my ancestors were pioneers who went to Ohio in a covered wagon (I am researching my family tree right now) and they got along fine without any techie stuff (if they hadn't I wouldn't be here now), so your observation at the end is so true, I think ---- if you can't afford all the gadgets now, you can still camp out the old-school way and acquire them bit by bit.

Can you make a part 2? We have very similar taste and I found this video very useful for discovering new gear. There's a lot of videos out there about best camping gear but they're usually from channels called "top ten camping" or "survival tips" etc. They are usually very generic. None of the gear is actually tested by them and it often includes amazon knockoff items that are not great. This video is significantly more useful. I spend a lot of time researching new gear but there is always something new to discover and try. Keep up the videos, excellent content!

The silky saw is so lightweight. But mighty. I use my jackery battery camping or at home when we’ve had power outages. I have the solar panels to recharge it as well. I keep water jugs in my car at all times cuz they come in handy for so many things. Great as a hand washing station at camp as well as a way to fetch and store cooking and drinking water.
