Watching Sam Darnold in the Vikings/Rams game last night really gave me an appreciation for what Jayden Daniels does for his offensive line with the ability to escape and getting rid of the ball quickly. Immobile QBs like Darnold put so much pressure on the offensive line, especially when he holds the ball for an eternity and has lanes to escape a crumbling pocket but just stands there like a statue and takes drive-killing sacks.

We saw it last year with Sam Howell. Dude got sacked almost 70 times and led the NFL in INT's. Jayden isn't fazed. He doesn't care that his line can't block and his receivers aren't getting separation right away. He'll buy time and find a way to get it done. Hopefully, he doesn't have to put the team on his back much longer and they build up the roster around him.

I was thinking the same exact thing watching the Vikings. The O line really was not great but SD’s immobility sure did not help matters.

As much as I didn't like the hit, it was Brandon Coleman's fault. He pushed the defender into Daniels. Coleman's footwork and leverage needs a lot of work. throughout this video, watch how many times the defender gets him off leverage and gets around him.

The falcons were honorable in this regard. They had a play early that Jayden got twisted up by the defender but the defender didn’t drop his weight on him and allowed Jayden to escape serious injury by pulling his foot out from underneath the defender. 🫡

I’m so sick of the Lamar Jackson comparison…. Go watch Lamar his first year he was a runner first passer second , JD is the complete opposite but certain people compare him to Lamar not because of playing style but complexion , go watch Lamar at Louisville and go watch JD at LSU 2 completely different QBs but yet because they both Black and have the ability to run they are always compared but I don’t see anyone comparing Justin Herbert to Joe burrow or Josh Allen to Ben rothelisberger…… How ironic

I think they compare him to Jackson do to their similar stats. Passing and rushing are very close. That and their ability to evade pressure and make plays. That being said, I still love the guy and think he is a top notch player in the league. Wagner's importance is as much mentally impacting the team overall as it is anything. He is at that age though where at some point(maybe next year) that he isn't the Wagner that he has been his whole career. Luvu is under contract next year and Wagner isn't. I still want them to resign Wagner for next year, but maybe rotate him out on passing downs and just give him breaks throughout the game.

I'm a Commie and I love Jaden coming out of college and thought he was more advanced as a passer in his reading of defenses and wanted our GM to pick, but that doesn't mean Caleb can't be great NFL QB. The clock goes off for different players at different times and one player's journey can't be emulated by everybody. I know stupid Bears fans and their denigrating of Jaden ( e.g. He can't throw in the middle, he can't read defenses, etc.) can you make you say mean spirited things back, but we need not stoop to their level. I'm rooting for the kid to be great because it can only enhancing the greatness of Jaden whenever they meet. Brady and Peyton can exist in the same universe and it made NFL better.

@didgruntleddansnyderfan true. He's had experience in both in college, too. If so, he'll join Cosmi and Scheriff as drafted tackles we moved inside. He might still make it as a tackle, but we'll see. He's just a kid still.

3 weeks ago JD5 quit wearing the Playlist on his wrist I'm thinking omg 😲 dudes got the playbook down and he's been on fire 🔥 ever since. JD5 & DIMES is the best rookie in NFL history....... Stop with the comparisons to other quarterbacks. With his limited amount of weapons, and basically an expansion team roster he still has won 5 walk-off games and setting rookie records with each game he's played. The NFL needs to crack down on the late hits on him as well...he's the future of the league and their ratings are dropping dramatically That hit out-of-bounds in Tampa game was the most egregious attempt to hurt the kid I've ever seen. He should have been ejected for targeting and late hit out of bounds. Just like "no class" Dallas also tried to end his career in a meaningless game and DQ was smart enough to take him out early. These roller coaster nail biter games are fun in hindsight. Is there something he needs to improve so that the game is won before the fourth quarter? Is it scheme? Is it the poor running game from the RBs? Or do I have to up my dosage on my heart medicine for the next ten years?

He doesn’t remind you of Lamar his rookie year. Maybe you forgot about his rookie year because he barely threw for over 1000 yards. Lamar threw 6 tds the entire season. Jayden had 5 in one game against Philly. Lamar is an amazing qb. But to say you remember him being remotely close to Daniels rookie season to rookie season is absurd. 3x passing yards. 4x passing tds. No comparison

@chase Daniel C”Mon bruh you said I think scary Terry “Can Be Great” he is literally one of the best in the league. Top 5for sure. All he does is get 1k yards year after year with any qb you pick. Oh by the way he is an all pro and pro bowler. He leads the league in most contested catches , he routinely has better games than AJ Brown but because Brown has the bigger name I guess he is not mentioned as he should consistently among the best. J. Jefferson ,J. Chase , M. Evans, Scary Terry , AJ Brown , St Brown T. Higgins Cee. lamb. Pauca.

Lamar was a pretty trash passer his rookie season. Jayden is already one of the most accurate passers in the NFL.
