To my son Dave May 30 1978 - June 10 2010 in a paragliding accident. He used to listen to this song. How appropriate, how beautiful and how painful to hear under the circumstances. It brought back the intensity and rawness of my grief, all a part of the process. Thank you for posting it.

Well in my time of dying I don't want nobody to mourn All I want my friends to do Come and fold my dying arms Well, well, well so I can die easy Jesus gonna make up my dying bed Won't you meet me Jesus, meet me Won't you meet me in the middle of the air And if these wings should fail me, Lord Won't you meet me with another pair Well, well, won't you meet me Jesus Jesus gonna make up my dying bed I'm going on down to the river Stick my sword up in the sand Gonna shout my troubles over Lord I done made it to the promised land Well, well, well I done crossed over Jesus gonna make up my dying bed Ever since I've done acquainted with Jesus We haven't been a minute apart He placed the receiver in my ear Threw religion in my heart Well, well, well I can ring up my Jesus Jesus gonna make up my dying bed

I am about as religious as Bill Maher, but Frazy Ford has me seein' the light in the soulfullness of her song: won't you meet me jesus, meet me won't you meet me in the middle of the air and if these wings should fail me lord won't you meet me with another pair

so see the spirituality in it, and look away from the religion. more possibilities. amazing grace is a great song and every artist/musician will agree on that. likewise many old spirituals and traditionals mention jesus--- covered by you name it. are you going to shun everything that mentions jesus?

@JoshMcCaffrey7710 жыл бұрын
Or, not enough... LZ's version doesn't capture anything of the original IMO... It's just LZ rockin' out... Not bad, but they didn't do anything make it stand out.

I like the trio. I like their song, 'Human Thing'. I dislike the songs they do that bring in that religious crap. Religion comforts...and cripples. That's the truth.
@seanwilkinson39759 жыл бұрын
I like bluegrass, but I'm not fond of the vocal approach used here, and in many other songs. Here, it's like "high lonesome" singing, but too soft, nasal, breathy...with hard "r"s preceded with "v/w" and merging with "h". It makes some vocalists sound congested and fluttery to my ears. But it's only a small quibble, as the entire musical package here is wonderful.
@trishbirchard12708 жыл бұрын
Totally agree !! Those terrific lyrics need to be a little more enunciated or how else can we sing along ?
@jerrywilson45027 жыл бұрын
This is not bluegrass by any stretch of the imagination.
@theoriginaljoeschmoe59877 жыл бұрын
Jerry Wilson By "bluegrass" we are referring to a specific genre of music, not actual "blue" "grass"...
@tonyakeldsen17825 жыл бұрын
Well I really do like their sound but they don’t annunciation well at all like a bunch of mumbling. Have to listen over and over to try to determine words. No am not hard of hearing I just think if you are trying to relay a message you should try to be understandable. I sent their songs to my mother and sister without mentioning my feelings on clarity and they both said the music was nice but would have been better if they could have understood what they were saying
