I put a deposit on one of these today. I’ve been agonising for a couple of weeks whether to save myself a bit of cash and get the MT07, I went for the 797. The MT07 has a bit more of a punch and you get a lot of bike for your money. I liked the slightly forward riding position on the 797 and you’re right, the power feels like it is spread more evenly and linear. The seat is more comfortable as well! Pick it up in two weeks! 😊

As a new rider, which I am or will be soon, I would appreciate the gear indicator shown on the display. I would consider the 797 over a MT-07 at any time of the week. Just for the fact, that you don't take off like a rocket, like you do with a MT ..
@Nik-xe3tx5 жыл бұрын
Bro I just got an fz07 and as a new rider the bike is controlled. Unless if you randomly blip the throttle then your front wheel will keep up. But it’s a good bike man and just take it easy. 👍
@Domstadt47115 жыл бұрын
@@Nik-xe3tx - thanks for the input mate. Appreciate it. I am just confused though, because I will be a first time rider in the Manual/Clutch section. I just don't wanna ride a rocket as a first bike. As a newbie you may get scared and by accident you pull the throttle to hard and then you may be involved in an accident. The Ducati is less sensitive on the throttle. When I watch or read reviews about the MT- , they all mention the sensitive nature of the throttle. I think it's more for experienced riders who are able to control that. Against the Ducati speaks the price though. it's pretty heavy on the wallet.
@Nik-xe3tx5 жыл бұрын
Domstadt4711 bro take this into perspective, four weeks ago I haven’t touched a motorcycle before nor a manual transmission and now I’m riding around town without any problems. I’m not sure why they said that the fz07 throttle is twitchy, I mean it is but it is also controlled. So as long as you go easy on the throttle u should be fine man. But I will tell you the engine braking on that thing is crazy! That’s what I would worry about the most. I’m still getting used to that whenever I downshift. But nonetheless the mt has a gear indicator and I would say a really good overall bike for beginners to even advanced riders.

No, the 821 has better electronics, suspensions and a lot of other things. The 797 is the starter/cheap version of the 821. If you are looking for your first bike I suggest you a 300cc (if you have the restriction to 48hp, like in italy or germany, until you are 20), or a japanese one (like mt07 or cb500/650f), maybe used, to practise and than jump on a monster 821.

@novadrive38097 жыл бұрын
Lebowski Fan I would say see if you can get test rides on he Monster 821 and the FZ back to back. I think with the FZ, it's a little smoother transmission, but for me the Monster is just one sexy machine, and if money is not the issue, go with the Monster. I've had two of them and probably will not buy any other bike next unless it's the Monster 1200. Excellent bikes and gorgeous looks compared to anything else.

Blake Newton nah, ducati is doing that to separate lines more than anything, the old gen monsters had all sss except by the 695/696 which was the cheap entry level bike, however this time is just to separate their lines, they coule have just fitted the old SSS and call it a day, but they wanted a visual mark to differentiate the 1200 bikes to the "cheap bikes"
