Update: 5500 miles and i still love it! Keeping your bike well maintained and clean really helps maintain a satisfying performance for the 300ss. if you let things get old, dirty, like chain and oil, you will lose a bit of smoothness in torque that you want to make up for the lack of top speed.

I was interested in the 300SS initially, it looks amazing. I purchased the 300NK because it had the tail tidy, it was $300 cheaper and no fairings means easier self maintenance. I may get a small wind deflector for it later. The top speed in the owners manual from the manufacturer says “designed” 86mph, but I’ve had it up to 99 according to the speedo. I do wish it had 31.5hp and 21.5ft lbs of tq. It would be nice if it were around 321lbs too. Other than these few minor things, I couldn’t be happier. I got a brand new 300 naked bike for $3900 and it has so many features and awesome warranty. I’d say it would have no problem maintaining 65mph highway speed for a prolonged period, which is about 6000rpm.

All that is irrelevant tbh. Yes it's nice to have but at the end of the day I question the long term reliability of these motorcycles. I've never seen anything Chinese on two wheels that wasn't crap after 10,000 miles and a fist full of cash for all the repairs you will most likely do in-between that period
@LucasSi919

@@TheGospelofKenneth just because other chinese manufactures you know produce a crap bikes doesn't mean all of them are bad. cf moto are kinda different. read about their history. I wouldn't say their bike is on par with the japs...yet, but it's clearly not as bad as you expected. cf moto is in a joint venture with ktm, that's why their bike's design (especially the naked/sf one) kinda similar with ktm. they also involved in moto3 racing. their bikes are actually sold well in UK and have a good credibility.

I'm 5'8 and I'm dreaming to have this bike. I think it will fit perfectly to my size. Love the way you test the bike. You have such a positive outlook about it. I've seen alot more far worse videos from other people, where they just point out that it sucks. But I don't think that's the case, I think it goes to how optimistic the rider is, to his own bike. And that's what makes it enjoyable, having gratitude that you own a pretty good bike.

What a nice review. Everyone is trashing the bike with the exact same pitch: “it’s ok but I don’t know”. That’s not serious to me at all. They say it’s underpowered but having owned the Duke 200, the 250, a Chinese 250 naked lemon and a Honda CBX 250, I can say this one more than holds its ground against the KTM’s, plus it’s truly gorgeous and cheaper.

@@salskars6637 I still have my 300ss!! i gotta say, its pretty good! its best on the street but it can also do long rides. i took to a 7 hrs road trip and back without any problems whatsoever. engine is good, no leaks anywhere. just as long as you do the basic maintenance such as oil change, you're good to go. just in 8.5 months i did 11k km on it. but i am a lazy owner so even when i didn't clean my chains for the whole year, it still runs great. one thing tho, i did upgrade to an Aprilia 660 just this month. I'm not sure if that me just wanting a flash-er bike or the bike is getting boring for me.... but I'm sure its differs from person to person. i am still keeping the bike though for chill rides and for helping new/interested riders try on a motorcycle.

We sell the cf moto atv and utv. Have really good results from them. Good options on them, good price point. They are coming back in for service work, not broke work. Good machines.

as of now their bigger bikes seem to be quite a good alternative. Technically speaking they use engines from the likes of kawasakis ER650, Ninja/Z400, etc which are proven concepts. at last they produce parts for ktm like the dashboard, etc and ktm is considered a high quality brand (even though they kinda fail a lot with their in house produced things). in the end it's mainly about maintance and some bikes handle low maintance better than others

Im swapping out the windshield instantly when I get mine, I love everything on this bike except the windshield. It looks goofy and the taller one cfmoto sells is 100 times better.

I'd have strongly considered the 300NK instead of the Z400 I bought if they had been available. I feel like their Chinese origin would have helped keep their price from balooning like the stuff from the big 4 did. I could have walked out probably spending almost 2 grand less OTD than I did. And it's a really good point, that most small cc bikes will end up replaced before that 2 year warranty is up. Hell, I'm already planning my next bike and I've only had my Z400 since July.

I've always been a Kawasaki fan. Still am, but I bought my CFMOTO 300SS for the price point. I love it! Every bit as good of quality as Kawasaki.

@@ROBSOLUTELY Good to hear! When it's time to upgrade, the CFMotos are a tempting option. There's a 700 CL-X semi-local to me that is OTD just shy of what I paid for my Z400 OTD... They're SUPER tempting, especially since they seem to be offering MORE for the money, with that nice TFT dash and rideraids.

I’m between this and a ninja 400. This has the looks and sounds, fast enough for my needs, ABS, and the beautiful price But at 6’2 250lbs I’d definitely have to try it. The ninja 400 ABS is more well known, already has a good amount of info on mods, and repair/service. Or I could just start on an 06 ninja 636 that’s already modified, as it’s my step fathers but he doesn’t want to repair it…..

@@101BadBreath I’ll probably just end up fixing my stepfathers 636 SE, and not send her to the moon (with me included). He says it has a ton of low end torque but I’m assuming that’s because he doesn’t know how to ride it well……

I'd do a Whole Lot to get the ZX-25R As you know and say little bikes work hard and go nowhere. It is like a moto gp race not speeding. My daily bikes are a Tuono v4 1100 and a RC-51 and I'd give my left one for the ZX-25R or (drooling sounds) the ZX-25RH2. As always Chase, great video!
