I would like to see you use Erdsteel Daggers as their innate faith scaling is applied to physical damage but here's the fun part. . . When infused with a faith scaling infusion (like sacred or flame art) your faith stat will scale both physical AND elemental damage. This allows you to achieve a pretty good AR for a dagger. Also I'd love to see some more love for quickstep. Some lesser known tech is that if you quickstep left, right, or backwards you can follow up with the backstep attack instead of the rolling attack. Which is coincidentally really effective with dual daggers since the backstep attack is really good. (occasionally reposting explanation every few showcases).

This weapon is either super easy to farm or a massive pain. No in between. I recommended the Grossmesser next. It's also a pain to farm and is one of the only Strength Scaling Curved Swords. Took me sooo long to get but I love it.

Invading in the tunnels is really fun, although I did have a pretty harrowing gank the other night in one. It was that mine in Liurnia where you have to hit an illusory wall in the first room to progress. Well the host and their phantoms were happy to keep me bottled up. It’s a very small space to fight three people in, but I just barely managed.

I'm a little surprised you didn't use either Rotten Winged Sword Insignia or the 'Shield Bash' AoW for the shield. My main STR/FTH character runs with this sword, and the Shield Bash is such a great opener to force stagger foes before going into a R1 flurry. Awesome to see this showcase, all the same!!

It’s a trap more than anything. I was using it for the longest time, actually the Marika version, for a hybrid caster build. I also used the dragon greatshield talisman, thinking that its large defense applied to PvP. My stats looked great and my resistances were decent looking but I was getting melted like crazy at 60vig w/ 35% resistances. Even though the scar seals show you in the resistances tab the difference when equipping it and uneqipping it, the difference seems far larger.

why didnt you mention the feints? if you press circle while holding the heavy attack button you do a backstep attack, and this is the case with all thrusting swords or heavy thrusting swords, as well as curved swords having a different variant with a kick

most of the regular weapons showcased this far seem to do better on a str build, it looks like dex is generally just a weaker physical stat than strength in most cases Because is does less damage on avarage, doesn't have a 2 handed bonus and also does not increase physical defense like str

Dex weapons tend to be quicker, with more versatility, and easier to duel wield. Lightning being dex scaling also helps against better physical defense of str builds, and can chip through shields.

I think pure dex being rarer these days has to do more with the faster, more commonly powerstanced weapons getting more from into arcane for stat procs than investing into raw damage from keen or lightning infusions. Weapons outside of this category tend to perform best with their two handed moveset (greatswords, greatspears, collosals, etc.) can rely less on stat procs and prioritize raw damage. I don't think strength being the more popular of the two has to do with elemental infusions because strength also has fire infusions.

I like Elden Ring, but the problem I have with it, besides that you can't swim, is it's weapons. They did to the weapons what they did to Saber from Fate/StayNight. They took something, copy and pasted it a lot, then tweaked it a bit and called it a day. Elden Ring isn't the only one. All the souls game have this issue. I sit here and watch these showcases and think: "Man is it just me, or do all these weapons feel the same?" The ashes of war throw in some variety, but now much. Look, I get having a bunch of weapons, you're not going to get much change. But would it kill them to switch up some sword or spear spear animations? That's why I like Bloodborne. Almost all weapons felt different. Perhaps this is just me being tired of the same old thing, and wanting something a bit new. I don't know.

no, so what happens is when you two hand a weapon your strength stat is multiplied by 1.5, so str scaling weapons are stronger two handed than dex scalers, hope that answers your question! :)

Weapons with Strength or Dexterity scaling will always have their damage increased in relation to the scaling and your abilities, regardless of one or two-handing. When two-handing a weapon, your strength is treated as if it were 50% higher for the purposes of damage calculation and meeting ability requirements to wield the weapon. I believe these are the only effects of two-handing a weapon (apart from the move set of course), and they only relate to Strength.
