Thanks for your reaction. Over the years they've had a lot of haters... even in their early days RM and SUGA, who come from being underground rappers, were criticized on a live show by other rappers pointing them out for becoming idols who wear makeup on stage. In Korea, a lot of respect is usually given to the elderly, the age hierarchy is respected even in everyday life, not only in the workplace, so you won't see BTS responding aggressively to those who attack them, in person they are very diplomatic and respectful.. .. but you will see what they really think in some of their songs in response to the attacks they receive. At some point they were accused that their company bought the records to "boost sales" on the music charts because the industry couldn't understand how a group from a small company (that almost went bankrupt) with little influence in the Korean market, it might be selling well and becoming popular... but BTS is an "anomaly" in the korean industry from which they were constantly excluded... and since korean tv media didn't give them much opportunities to promote themselves, bts used KZbin platform to document his day-to-day life and make themself known to fans. They used platforms like Vlive to interact with fans in a more personal way... so the doors that were closed to them opened other doors worldwide for them. They have received and continue to receive criticism and hate on social networks but they are very loved by their fans and they are really successful and have won more than 700 awards worldwide in their career as a group, breaking records that no other group has achieved. So here they silence their detractors in this song with the success they have achieved and the support of Army... Because many of their detractors, rappers or not, sometimes haven't really achieved success in their fields but love to criticize and minimize BTS's achievements. They also seek to silence international media that have shown xenophobia (with comments made by some TV presenters of entertainment programs that mock and make comments about their Asian origin or also because they sometimes use a very neat style and sometimes "unmanly ")... and they may criticize them but the numbers (sales, awards) speak for itself. Mic Drop is a song for their haters. LOL! RM is the one who got out of the ambulance. He was rapping purely in English because he is the only member who can speak and is fluent in English. He was the one who said "Haters gonna hate. Players gonna play" Jin is the one you thought was RM in a black and white scene. J-hope is the one who started rapping at the beginning of the song. Suga is the one who rapped after J-hope. He said "My bad billboard. My bad worldwide" In the first Chorus, the one who sang "Did you see my bag, did you see my bag..." is V The one who sang "What you think bout that, What you think bout that..." is Jungkook. The one who sang "Come and follow me, follow me with your signs up..." is Jimin. The one who sang "Keep on running and running until I catch up..." is Jin. You're the only oneeeee who has mentioned that beat at the "did you see my bag" part. That's like my favorite part of production of that song and I really started to think 'am I the only one who likes this part so much?' no one ever mentions it. It's that house/dance beat mixed in there that just gave the it the perfect touch. I love stuff like that. They did it in Fire too, when RM and Jhope start rapping.

BTS received a lot of discrimination (from media outlets for being a group from a small company) and hate (from Korean netizens for their looks) early on in their career in South Korea...In this song they're responding to haters by saying "You thought we'd fail and wanted us to fail, but now we're at the top of the game, winning all the awards in Korea and even winning awards in America! So screw you haters, we won't even acknowledge you anymore because success is the best revenge"

This song is basically a clapback to all the backlash they've been receiving literally since they debuted back in 2013. The received a lot of hate bc they came from a small company who back then was at the edge of bankruptcy, they got accused of copyright, hate for their looks, and just pretty much everything you can think of. Now at the point when this song came out they have obviously came above and beyond conquering the music industry not only in Asia but they managed to do what every other asian act hasn't been able to do which was break the barrier of the music industry in the west. So yea to put it in a nutshell its a clapback to all the hate they've been receiving since their debut days. Glad you're enjoying their music/music videos, and yes even though this song is on the older side their music stands the test of time lmaooo

Quick Story: In Korea there were 3 Major Entertainment companies that controlled the Entertainment industry. BTS was signed with BIG Hit. A tiny Company that was teetering on Bankruptcy. From the day BTS debuted, BTS were always one of the best groups in Korea. This made other The Big 3 Companies nervous. They saw the response BTS was getting and were determined to slow down BTS' success. BIGHit didn't have the clout to take on these bigger companies. BigHit didn't have the money to promote or get BTS appearances and Bigger Companies could get their groups the booking etc in Korea. This isn't a quick story. I’m Korean American and it took me about 2 months and watching loads of videos to be able to identify who’s who so it takes time. The music video scenes go so fast that it’s not a good way to learn and identify each members. I started watching the BTS guides and documentaries and learned to identify each group members. Steve A O Kee - is how his surname is pronounced. Steven Hiroyuki Aoki is an American DJ and music producer. Born in Miami, Florida, but grew up in Newport Beach, California. He is of Japanese descent. His father was a former wrestler who also founded the restaurant chain Benihana. Aoki has worked with many artists and bands, including Drake, Kanye West, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Lenny Kravitz, Linkin Park, Snoop Dogg, Kid Cudi, BTS and Monsta X and many others. I recommend watching a guide video to learn the members of BTS. A GUIDE TO BTS BANGTAN 7" BY TAYLOR is a good one.

I'm new to BTS too, but loving what I see and hear! I haven't come across a song or MV that I haven't liked yet and that's incredible! Normally, can listen to 2 to 3 songs from an artist, change cd or song, but man, they're awesome! Looking forward to more BTS for sure!

My guy 7:50 that's Jin love rm is a rapper the one in blond hair was rm but they do change hair color often so u really need to study their faces but yes that's Jin love and rm the one wit blond that was rapping

There was one specific rapper, B-Free, who went hard at RM and Suga in particular since they both came from the underground rap scene. Years later, after BTS gained worldwide fame, B-Free tried to apologize, but by this point, BTS was like "piss off"... but instead of responding directly, they did MIC Drop and basically said we don't NEED your forgiveness or approval. Suga's song "Agust D" also has a clap back line to B-Free. In the same interview that he went after RM and Suga for being "girls" by wearing make-up on stage, he also said Suga's name was "Sugar" which is seoltang in Korean; but Suga's name is derived from "SHOOTing GAurd", his favorite position in basketball. He was trying to demean Suga by saying his name means he is "sweet" so he couldn't possibly be a rapper. In "Agust D", he says, "... I'm a pain in you're ass, too far from sugar...". And side note... the one you swore was RM... was actually Jin. :) RM is the one that came out of the back of the ambulance.

It took me a month of regularly watching their videos before I figured out who was who by first sight, since they change their style and hair so much. Ha! I think you would like their dance practice video for this song. It's really good and impressive. And definitely one of those guides about who is who. Steve Aoki (Ay-O-KEE) a famous producer and DJ. When you stopped to call them out you identified Jin as RM. So even though you said you knew what I am looked like you got that wrong. Then you pointed out RM and said it was J-Hope. Keep at it you'll get them eventually.

7:39 In the middle that you were sure is RM is Jin. RM is on his left. In the shot you have from left in the bucket hat: j-hope, RM, Jin, Jimin and then SUGA furthest to the right. j-hope started the song, SUGA the one after with the SUE lyrics and RM the one coming out of the ambulance and the vibing part you replayed + the "haters gonna hate" part was RM too. After you have watched some more individual members videos both music and compilations of each members you will have it down. In the beginning it might seem hard since it's 10 years of 7 people going from teens and early twenties to mid 20's to early 30's and constantly switching styles and hair colors etc but one day it will just click and you will wonder how you ever could mistake one for the other. I saw some other reactors not being able to tell who's who between 2 members in one video but next reaction they were wondering how they ever could mix them up so I promise you'll soon know them all. And the hate have been constant first from the start from underground rappers especially to rm and suga, from other Korean groups fans, from western media and show hosts and general public, there have been all sorts of attempts to discredit BTS and put them down and groundless accusations etc etc and so much racism and xenophobia etc. It's still going on, never ending hate. So BTS have been mistreated and struggled from the start not given the same opportunities as groups from other bigger Korean agencies in media and not the same opportunities as western artist get even tho BTS are bigger. So there are some songs in their catalog addressing this and here basically saying so sue us if you are so angry we are on top, haters gonna hate, good luck to you, we do not care we can't even count all or trophies and we do not care about your hate, do not even come crawling and apologize now. bye! Like BTS and army do not even have to listen to the losers hating, BTS and army is about love and inclusion and BTS make great music with meaning, great performances, amazing dancers, rappers and singers, what haters say does not matter it just make the haters look pathetic. They are below us we do not need to respond or listen or give them our time, they can scream their pathetic hate into a void.

BigHit/Hybe doesn't play those games, or at least they didn't at first. Because of that, they got and still get a load of hate and push back.
