Awesome catches! You're definitely right about that 8131. Clifford went full track speed yesterday on 296 as well! Man, how I wish we had more ES44ACs or even some EMDs (which a handful of those are stored at the moment) on the Greer trains. Here's what I've learned about the recent catches based on locomotive models. I honestly don't think the ES44DCs like 7550 are really bringing in the track speed like I thought they were. This also goes for when I caught 7612 on 242. I mean, those didn't take too long, like the C6Ms do. I did start hearing the horn exactly at the 45 minute mark, but I didn't see the train in view until around 1 or 2 minutes later. 8097 was the same way when I caught it on 296 a few times, but Clifford or the second track speed king weren't on in those days. So, I do agree with you about the good units bringing the track speed, being dependent on the engineer.

@@joshpack7330 Thanks Josh. Yeah, I do believe it could be dependent on both factors, the locomotive and the engineer. I’m leaning towards the locomotive mainly bc even when Clifford is on C6Ms he doesn’t do track speed. He simply isn’t allowed to do so bc of the mandatory crappy auto controls on those C6Ms! EMDs and now AC GEVOS are definitely the better locomotive models when it comes to speed. I still think I need more data before coming to a conclusion. I’m looking forward to catching 296 tomorrow with 8131.
