It’s so surreal to see the southern extent of the line being slowly restored to service after not being used since 1956. These guys deserve all the praise for their hard work

They absolutely do - this was my first time at the EBT volunteering with the Friends, and am very proud to have helped out in this impressive effort! The dedication of many of the volunteers is astounding - several of them are at it practically every week of the year!

Well I'm glad someone made a video of the new track. It looks like Tuck deserves a big congratulations for doing such a good job building track that's looking like 30 mph track all day long. Really good job. the only thing I'd do is load up with stone along the edges to keep lateral movement under control

This is one of my favorite places to visit. I try to go every year to patronize EBT railroad. It’s a true gem! It’s great to see the yearly progress that they are making fixing everything up. And to think that EBT railroad was almost sold for scrap iron back in the early 2000’s.

One of the highlights of the 1990 NMRA National Convention was riding the EBT. Sure happy the line is thriving. I have some EBT HOn3 kits that I have got to get built.

Great video - I love seeing the latest trackwork, and Henry giving hand signals at the end. A note of correction - the M-4 is a 12 ton Plymouth, not two ton - or at least it was the last time I ran it!!!

About 3/4 of a mile from current end-of-track (as of 2024-09-19). However that's the current extent of laid rail - a few thousand feet or so east/north of there still needs to be ballasted and tamped.
@willhorowitz88063 ай бұрын
Not too far after EOT the tracks cross Route 994, round a sweeping left hand curve, go through the front yard of a high school, and a little ways after the school is the bridge.

The one by the Shops? No, some kid would fall in, hurt themselves, etc. The one up the hill, for the engine coaling station? Probably, they'll be using it.

About 1.7 miles of track has been laid south from the yard in Rockhill Furnace

At this point, how many miles of mainline trackage exist to run passenger trains over? Nobody seems to know!

About five, from "Orbisonia" to Colegate Grove. There is only speeder service southbound, and that distance increases weekly.

When EBT was operating, did they build their own hoppers, or were they manufactured elsewhere and shipped in??

Both. They did order cars and also parts so they could make more. Plus with the rebuild program most hoppers are practically new cars
