So you're getting Ewoks to look at it??.... better than JarJar Binks I spose. 😉 Great video. Always good to watch someone else working on their car in comfort and warmth on my sofa than me do some work on mine. 🤣🤣

if those ignition parts were motorcraft, and the first owner had it serviced at gates ford dealer, i wouldn't be surprised if they were the last set they fitted before he got rid?

Agreed. It seems like the car was barely serviced after 2009 or there abouts as I keep finding FoMoCo parts all over it still.

If its a vibration then all three engine and gearbox mounts will need attention as they will be knackered by now which does make a difference! However I wouldn't rule out those rubbish tyres! It doesn't sound mechanical as they're are no codes to lead you in some direction, otherwise I would suggest the MAP sensor/cleaning the map sensor. Great video!

Thanks Andy 👍🏻 Yeah, I'm going to change all three mounts as a matter of course because, as you say, by now they will be knackered. Those ditchfinders will be going in the bin as soon as I can afford a decent set so watch this space 😉

Great update. When is the XM video?
@16ValverYTChannel2 жыл бұрын
Cheers CJ. Not sure when you'll see the XM tbh as I've got this to finish off as well as getting through all the work that needs doing to the next ECotY video (a car no one has seen yet).

Is it a constant shudder at a certain RPM of actually a clonk? The video doesn't really do it justice, as it seems to be quite smooth when filming in cabine. A while back I thought the engine mounts on my Fiesta were on the way out. (It has a feint shudder from around 2000rmp, perhaps the rubbers had perished). in the end it was one of the wheels that was a bit warped. (Rear passenger wheel in my case)
@16ValverYTChannel3 жыл бұрын
It's a vibration on the straight ahead or turning left from around 2500-4500 rpm. Doesn't don't at all whilst turning right at the same rpm.
@paulleggett97353 жыл бұрын
Silly question, but is it defo engine speed or correlates to wheel speed? I mean, could it Be those shitty tyres?
@16ValverYTChannel3 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul, it's definitely a vibration I'm dealing with now as it only comes on the straight ahead or with the steering turned to the left at between 2.5k-4.5k rpm. If I have the steering turning to the right at those revs it doesn't vibrate.

I would start with engine mounts first.

They're cheap(ish) and pretty straightforward to do so yeah, I'll definitely be doing that Tony 😊

Great job. Did this fix all fault codes? Maybe the lambda sensor at fault?
@16ValverYTChannel3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Frank that's very kind of you. Excellent question as I forgot to mention it on the vid. Yes the engine code has gone now, so that crank position sensor was the culprit there me thinks. I'm going down a vibration route now so watch this space more another update soon 👍🏻
