Thank you for another great show, fellas. That is some beautiful country to graze cattle on. Your cattle look like they have summered very well. I saw a bear today on my ranch. There's a healthy population of them. You folks take care. See you next week.

That was very cool to see the Bears. Does it make you guys feel good that you are helping to feed America being Ranchers raising Beef? The cattle look good and healthy. Do you guys see Bears often while Ranching in Utah and Colorado? Nature sure is Beautiful.
@shawnjack8092
@shawnjack8092 2 ай бұрын
Hey Ty, we see more bears in Colorado for sure, but their bear hunting regulations are different than Utah. Utah has a very aggressive bear hunting program so we don't have as many bears in Utah. We love what we do, it is fun to see the calves grow! Take care.

Damn. I heard that a Bear will damn sure come up the rope a little bit. Was your parents name Clay O'Brien Cooper? You Bet! You see there is something you just don't hear about at a Branding or hell any where. 1800 Drifter's and their people is where it's at fokes. Never in a million years thought I'd be reading though the comments and see something like roped and Bear together.

When you go home do you have a herder to keep an eye on them? When I ran cattle in the mountains we always had to hire a herder or two. I was in an association and there was about 1600 head. My great grandfather ran cattle up the canyon before there was a forest service. They did over grazed. There was about 2500 head they ran before the forest service cut them back. Over the years the government has continued to cut and now they only run 1200. The reason I sold out was the bs the association members themselves were causing working with the forest service. They paid the price and now only run 1200. Best thing I ever done was to get rid of the permit. Instead of two weeks to round up my cows it took me an hour.

For us tinhorns, could you elaborate on why your moving this large of a herd to a higher elevation this time of year? Hard work through that thick brush. But good comrade and a rainbow make up for it. Love this video!

Hi, sure I will try to do that in next weeks video. In a nut shell, for us September is the month the calves gain the most weight. It cools down and the bugs die off. So we try to put them on the very best feed during September. They will gain close to 2 pounds a day on that grass. Thanks for watching.
