don't fall into the trap of comparing prices to the states... in Australia we are in a similar situation to you, cars that are common in the states are rare and fetch double the price. What matters is you could afford it and you have a smile on your face and excitement in your voice brother!!

A shout out from S.W. Missouri , USA. Hay as far as the price of the truck, you did not not take a hit on . Darn good price for what yo got and were you found it. As far as an abdication. Heck as long as you don't mind not eating, I have found I can afford old trucks this way .Currently I have 18 titled vehicles running back to 1939. " all ran when parked". Oh ya did I mention I'm signal with no kids. Hence my toy collection. Well , Have a great day and I will look forward to next video.

I am by no means an expert on these cars(far from it), but for the age of the vehicle, it seems like a descent price. Addiction is right...in a good way. Keeps a guy out of the pub. When I hear and watch guys doing complete builds in weeks and months, all I can say is "wow, WELL DONE". I have been at my project '76 100, a few years already and still cannot drive it. But I am getting really close now. Finding and hour a day and maybe 4 to 6 hour session on the weekend in between work and family time, not to mention trying to keep the cost down is the most challenging. However, I draw my inspiration from guys like you Div, among others. Thank you again for sharing. Div, HUDSON needs a number to join the que boet.

Duff, you got the truck at a decent price….here in the US we have farmers auctions out in the Mid west that depending on the folks that show up you can get a PU 1940-1950’s between $800.00 and as high as $2500.00 depending on the condition. Enjoyed your video as am glad to see you got the truck….I agree, it is an addiction as I did a frame off 1969 442 2 door oldsmobile which took me 18 months to complete start to finish. 👍 I am currently working on a 1939 2 door sedan oldsmobile and once finished I will be on the hunt for a 40’s or 50’s cab over or a short 50’s model school bus. Got some nasty power ready for either. 😂 have a great rest of the week young man and a super weekend. Always look forward to seeing your Vid’s. 👍 take care 👍🇺🇸🫵

Can’t think of the number of times I watched some beautiful old examples sit in one spot until they return to the ground. Owner does not care. Pull up and ask about it and now it’s valuable. Hello from Alabama! I would say you got a pretty good deal on that truck. If the guy finds the front fenders for it, is he going to charge you extra for them? Either way, it's getting harder to find old vehicles like that for a fair price. I really enjoy the way you use what you have to build your ratrods, instead of spending a lot of money. You have great creativity in design and much skill in fabrication! Good sense of humor too!

Love that you won the bid and your price is right in line with what they ask in the southeast US, it always depends on who's selling and how bad you want it, I've got about the same money in my 40 Chevy but no box, grill or frame but it's a decent cab with great fenders and new running boards, I'm calling it a win for both of us, I'll be looking forward for the Hudson build can't wait to see what you do with it 😉,, cheers mate, or is that too Australian,, idk

Wow that was a sketchy road trip back with the trailer. What a dream score. A right side drive. Priceless in the states. For what you paid, in American dollars that would be a steal of a price. Very nice. Ill try and see if I can find anymore information on that vin number.

One cool looking truck. I don't know if you know Bad Chad. But he got a buddy that had two of them. He sold one but still has one. They based up in Canada..but if you send Bad Chad a message maybe you get Jims contact number. He knows the history of these trucks..be intresting to see the build number. Always enjoy your content. .I put the word out on your channel. I might have to do a road trip down to SA. It's been thirty years . Good luck . I would say in the States what you have would cost 5 to 8 k. Judging on the programs I watch. PS ask Bad Chad for the link on the Hudson truck. Think there was a couple. 6 months back. Take it easy man.

I would pay 880 USD for that truck in the states. All depends on situation if you know the seller maybe less.Maybe you would trade for something of less value that buyer needs. But on other hand I could see someone asking 5K US for it which in that case I would be out.Good luck with your new truck!
