You had me at strong coffee. I'm fairly sure every single connector on my tank is broken, love the truck, thankfully it's got enough lift that dropping it won't be hard. Thanks for the content.

You're welcome. I hope you find your solution. P0456 and cheap plastic parts on the the fuel tank and lack of ability to just replace the rollover valve instead of having to replace the entire tank, truly tests the will of man.

Good job Man i have the same issue 2015 Ram 2500 Hemi 5.7 Tradesman, No way in hell i buy a new Fuel tank for $1,600

I have both ports broken off of mine. I don’t even know what that rollover valve does. Mopor tech couldn’t really explain it either. Buying a $900 tank and a $150 fuel pump is crazy to fix a $3 piece of plastic. If I drop the tank I’m doing a new pump at the same time since my truck is 14 yr old.

It has been a gut wrenching crusade to find the cause for my P0456 code. After changing everything but the tank,I rolled the dice on a used tank at a junk yard for $100 and as of today, for 700 miles, the code has not returned---BIG FINGERS CROSSED. A local shop broke my overflow valve stem during a fuel pump change and the code popped up and remained until this used fuel tank change…. This time I took care of the job myself. I also replace the 1.5 year old fuel pump because the fuel sending unit prematurely failed. It was about a 4 hour job in my drive way. Good luck!!!

Hi instead of a stainless still straw. I used a brake line instead and just cut to what I need. Is that just as good as stainless still that u used?

The stainless steel was a perfectly snug fit that also kept the cheap plastic stem rigid, but it is not the only way. Turned out that the rollover valve (interior) was bad so I had to replace the whole gas tank with a used tank from the junkyard. I could not get a new tank during the 2020 pandemic due to zero availability.

Oscar Guzman - You would think, right? It is permanently attached to the 26 gallon fuel tank; so, it requires a total fuel tank replacement just to fix that little piece of plastic.
