Hello Mr. Pitts. Having driven blown alcohol altereds,funny cars and dragsters , a friend (also a driver) and I made it to the 2000 Reunion . Made it all 3 days of the meet and the last day,Sunday, made it to the track early , as usual. Rick had the Magicar out and he let me sit in it and get some photos! One of the best memories I have involving racing!! While being able to sit in this car was “Magical “ , realizing ( and somewhat reliving) the history, action, drivers and builder of this car IS WERE IT’S AT !! Being an ‘excited ‘autograph collector ( non monetary, but for their history in the sport) , You , Jeep Hampshire and Kent Fuller signed the front of the book with the Magicar on it. Also had a book with me, “ Great Dragging Wagons “ . MANY Greats of the sport autographed it for me (2000, 2001, Tucson test and tune ) and is a prized possession of mine! To many of these have regrettably passed !! Your coverage of some of the greats , not limited to but including’ The Surfers ‘ makes one realize how many GREATS I will not meet or be honored with THEIR signature!! While attending a memorial for Morris Calkins in Hobbs N.M. , Dale Pulde was amazed at the autographs this one book contained! This in itself surprised me! Not only has Mr. Pulde driven over 70 fuel cars , he Is a historian of the sport! Thank you Mr. Pitts for all you do for the sport ! All the best to you!

Received your book for Christmas, can't wait to read it. I was 16 in 1966. Colorado had three drag strips near Denver and I got expirence that Era first hand including the Surfers at Bandimere speedway.
