I caught a muddy once and it grabbed the handle of a milk crate and just crushed it. Permanent damage. Keep fingers away. Were you anchored for the mullet or was it the turn of the tide?

Female mud crabs always have much smaller claws than males buddy, and at that size,she is no longer a breeder. Missed out on a good feed !
