No, you can absolutely use FC on bigbaits those people that tell you not to do it probably don’t know how to cast big baits properly. I use 20lb-25lb FC on anywhere from 4oz-9oz all day,especially during the winter time here in AZ.

@@cactuscreekoutdoorsaz2310 could be the combination of rod overpowering the line too. Fast swing/whip casting is a NO NO

Sure, you CAN use FC but why take the chance? Any little nick or kink in the line and you’re gonna lose your expensive swimbait. Heavy copolymer performs just fine and has just enough stretch to avoid breaking on a cast IMO.

@@coreywhitacre6581 Been there done that. But those are all can be avoided by just checking the line every so often. I like FC because it’s easier to keep the depth on extra slow sink glides/soft bait. Also FC moves glide bait more responsibly at the end of the long cast. Besides winter time I’m using mono all year long expect big soft baits. It’s all preference at the end of the day there no right/wrong

My first thought was Flouro. I love throwing big baits but after several years my wrist and shoulder have paid the price. I lost my OG Deps 250 years ago at Canyon never did find it,nice striper.
