Chasing Racecars at Watkins Glen!

Finally made it out to the legendary Watkins Glen International! Easily the best racetrack I've been to by far, Watkins Glen has a very fast and flowing layout with plenty of camber changes to keep things exciting. Absolutely cannot wait to come back, awesome event run by the guys over at ‪@MassTuning‬

I went to MassTuning TrackFest Watkins Glen the previous weekend. Hope to catch you there soon. I was running Intermediate, but Viper Nation was there with all their... Vipers and most of the Advance drivers dropped down to Intermediate. WGI is my "Home Track" although I find myself at Pocono more often (family nearby = free lodging). I set my benchmark as 2:15.00 which is about as quick as front running Spec Miatas. Ran a 2:16.733 before my brakes and tires were toast. Had to call it a half day.

Was gonna make it out this year but just was not able to, next year for sure, tons of people have told me its one of the best tracks in the NE and some even in the whole US. As for now I think Palmer is my favorite in the Northeast. Great driving, looks awesome, you went in the best time too, leaves are prettyyyy

Really great track, i just made it out there for the first time a few weeks ago. Seems like you could have used a few more hp to help you down the 1st straight. You can really send it in turn 7, brake inside the turn.

Can I just say these videos are a testament to the brz's gearbox and drivetrain, your by no means going easy and the car is just taking it. Have you had any gearbox and drivetrain problems over your experience tracking the car?

none so far thankfully! but these 86s actually do have some known transmission problems specifically with the clutch fork giving out

@@dadhats I had one myself for a couple of years and tracked it once or twice, turbo 86/brz's are more likely to destroy transmissions anyway, thanks for the awesome content, From Australia

It's an amazing track right? The compression on turn 2!! I was signed up too, but F1 Cota was the same weekend. On reflection, I'd have rather been at the Glen. Great lines and driving. See you in the Spring buddy!

@@dadhats just saw this. Yes sir I did. It's in the garage on a battery tender. New Toyo RRR's in the basement awaiting spring. I only got a few hundred miles on it before I put it away. It a blast to drive. 2024 I'll get it to the track ;-)

​@@tobyathron7651 never even heard of them before. after a little googling looks like they're a pretty niche uk company, might be hard to find a tuner familiar with them on this side of the pond. remote tuning might be your best bet

How are you getting brake pressure reading? I got an obd dongle for my m2 manual and going to record at brands hatch in the uk next week…but I couldn’t seem to find a brake option…?

in racechrono it's called brake position % and my obd2 reader records it. if it's not there for you maybe your car doesn't have it? not sure

Why is it that a sawsal to a car always gets people of so much ? It’s just a wall of straight fire noise it’s not sounding good at all if you ask me. I guess flavour is personal, you brz sounds nicer in my opinion

Because its more synonymous with a racecar, you're not hearing a muffler on a f1 or nascar stock car.
